Knowitng the differne between a face-to-faee course and an online couse and getting over any fears of using technology when teaching onlne is very important.  Knowing and employing the "four O's" are also very important: orgin; organization' orchestration; and Outcome assessment.

When going from F2F to online learning, there are many things that need to be done differently.  Communication, to me, is the most important thing an instructor can do to answer questions, reassure students, check progress, etc.

No matter how you choose to teach, students must still learn content before moving on to more advanced courses. Be sure to stay consistent within the course with an organizational plan. Engage the students from the beginning of class so that they will want to learn.

classroom content may need to be modified and transformed to move to online - several factors to consider.

I like the idea of weekly announcements and an additional announcement at the beginning of a unit to keep the students momentum going.  Waiting until a unit module is complete may lead to a student’s forgetting that they have to stay engaged in the course.

The transition from F@F to online learning is not as easy as recording your lectures.  We need to remember that anything over 5-10 minutes is too long.  It is necessary to boil down the content to the most important learning objectives and clearly state those.  It is important to build community and engagement.

When moving to online format an instructor cannot simply create presentations and hope students will review them. Instructors will need to consider the most effective way in achieving student engagement and outcomes.

Keep the content engaging, make sure the layout is easy for the students to follow and quickley. Make sure to use tools that are appealing to the students laearning process

It will take dilligence in setting up a great learning environment.

I agree with Jennifer and Lawrence in that it's important to develop a good layout in terms of the four O's, and the key to learner success will be organizing the content so that learners can find what they need quickly and easily. It's key to remember that the layout I choose will be best for the students and for them to accomplish their learning goals. I cannot just duplicate content from a face2face enviroment. Student's expect to be engaged. And engagement is the key to learning.

It's important to use a variety of relavent tools and teaching methods without being overwhelming. The use of technology and the course layout need to be consistent so students can have a level of predictibility in the online learning environment.

I learned that when designing online learning units that it is necessary to be organized so your students understand how important it is in the knowledge of spedific things moving forward.

Engagement with the students is important to keep them active and interested in learning.

ORganization and communication are vital

I appreciated the comments about facing your fears when adapting to an online learning model.  I have never taught online and I am realizing that there are many things to consider.  I am concerned about how to transition or transform hands on learning to the online system.  Organization is important to the online environment.

mportance of consistency when building a course and its layout.

I learn that it's ok to show your personality when providing introductory but be minful to omitt anything personal. Online learning should use short concise modules and minimze lectures, deliver relevant and crticial information to support performance based skills.

This module is very important since it deals with the design of the course to be taught online and presents a series of very good recommendations to continue learning. however, there are several administrative details over which, as a teacher, I have no control over them. For example; I teach my courses according to a syllabus, but the institution that hires me is the one who decides which courses and when they are taught.

As a teacher prepares a course he or she has to fallow simple and basic guidelines in order to prepare a user friendly course not to overwhelm the student and promote a good rapport between students and teachers.

When going from F2F to online teaching, teachers need to consider a variety of learning stategies and types of instruction in order to engage students and meet their needs as learners.
