Assigning group activities helps promote critical thinking skills while actively learning to implement problem solving skills collaboratively. 

Rubrics are a grading tool for instructors but also is designed to assist students in meeting standards and expectations of assignments to be completed.

Instructors need to set the tone and expectations at the start of class, inform students that active learning will be implemented, and review limitations or any misconceptions about active learning.

Encourage students to actively participate in class discussions and use their thinking skills to answer questions, keep students engaged in content being taught, ask problem-solving questions.

I learned ways to identify behavioral problems early on, documenting all interaction with students when engaging in conflict resolution, and how conflict management not only occurs on an in-person class but also in e-learning courses as well.

Every student has a different learning style and it is often a good idea to provide instructional feedback as much as possible whether in an asynchronous environment or on a 1:1 basis via a synchronous environment.

Establishing a rapport and relationship with your students, have them post their profile and encourage other students to view each other's profiles to get to know one another.

It's important to familiarize yourself with the course content prior to your online class and also help provide technical support where needed.

Having a positive mindset while not giving up on hope increases success rate.
