I was taking a course on communication, but it brought me here for some reason. I learned that body language makes up most of what we are communicating, tone being second, and the actual words being said actually make up less than 10 percent of what is being communicated.
As an on-line instructor there are many ways to communicate with your students. It is important that they know you are there to help them succeed in learning.
Communication is more than essential to a University's operations. One of the things that I learned was the impact of each facet of communication and the benefit of selecting a mode of communication in every interaction based on your intent. I feel that to remedy this, it is critical for team members to be specific in their messages.
