I was taking a course on communication, but it brought me here for some reason. I learned that body language makes up most of what we are communicating, tone being second, and the actual words being said actually make up less than 10 percent of what is being communicated.

As an on-line instructor there are many ways to communicate with your students. It is important that they know you are there to help them succeed in learning.

Communication is more than essential to a University's operations. One of the things that I learned was the impact of each facet of communication and the benefit of selecting a mode of communication in every interaction based on your intent. I was intrigued as well by the unintended consequences of communication. Emails and written texts can be the most misconstrued. I feel that to remedy this, it is critical for team members to be specific in their messages.

Online instruction is becoming increasingly popular in many schools across the nation. As an instructor staying a but tech savvy is important. Learning the systems to navigate through the online curriculum is key. Having the ability to learn the systems before you have to introduce them to the students is really helpful. This ensures that you have a very good understanding of what is going on in the program. This means that if there are any issues with the system or the students are having trouble accessing the system you’re able to troubleshoot with them! If not knowing how to access support is important. 

To keep doing what I've been doing and to expand my knowledge and interpretation of my student's needs. 

As an instructor make sure you are familiar with the CMS, course content and support for the students.

I've learned that my job as an instructor is to deliver my own teaching method but also mastering the CMS.

Learning to adjust to the type of students one has is very important, as every group is different and the dynamic's are different..

Structure is very important as well as good communications.

Technical support is paramount as not all online modules are the same and instructors need to be familiar with the delivery techniques and strategies that work for all

Students do tend to learn more when they are interactive with the instructor and other students. An online environments needs to be structured so students can learn.

A lot of students are wanting online learning. so, it is important that instructors learn how to navigate and familiarize themselves with online course they are going to teach.

Be familiar with the course content.

Instructors should know how to navigate through CMS to be prepared for the students.  Also how they can get technical support

An e-learner, will take comfort and security when they know they can have support as all students want to be successful. Listerning to their needs is vital for success.

 

To be familiar with the teaching platform online is crucial. Technical support for the instructor and students is also critical. Presenting the material in easy and understandable manner helps on student retention of the learning material.

Support for E-learners is essential. Instructors must be organized have good time management skills. Give the learners very detailed instructions.
