Most everything I already knew, but this was a good reminder of things I can still perform for my students. We have a great teach support, so students are always covered.
It is extremely important to familiarize yourself with course content and the goals of the course and its start and end dates, know the manner in which the course is structured, and location of all course components. It is also important to know all assignments and their due dates, the primary assessment measurements, and the grading scheme.
Make it a priority to learn my students preferred learning and communication style to support their success. Also ensure to familiarize myself with the online system for teaching and grading with ease.

I learned that it's important to familiarize one's self to the course being taught. The course may not be in a subject of my specialization and expertise so it's important to anticipate possible queries and prepare to answer to enhance learning.
Additionally, understand how to use the CMS system of the organization for which I am employed to include different teaching strategies for engagement and comprehension.
In this module, I have learned the importance of understand the structure of the course. Understanding this information is imperative to how the content will be delivered, having a plan of execution for any assignments, homework, etc. for the students. Speaking of the students, it is important to know that not every student learns the same way, therefore, instructors must adapt the course content delivery to tailor different students' needs.
I learned and re-cap a lot of information. Due to being a seasoned Instructor you tend to forget some key tools that we have endured through the years of teaching, and Course delivery has put them in the forefront. I definitely want to be prepared; deciding what strategies will work for the module I will be teaching in. Make sure I have all the necessary tools needed for the module. This will make me less nervous on the day the module begin and to the end of each module.
To maximize efficiency as an instructor, you must also become readily familiar with the teaching software used.

While I've already been teaching online for quite a while, I found the information regarding all of the skills and proficiencies in dealing with the virtual format, especially in terms of understanding and navigating the Course Management System, very helpful. I also appreciated the idea of trying to access all of the online resources in the same way the students will have to in order to better help them if they have issues accessing anything.
It is important to have a cohesive system consisting of course management, effective content delivery and a support system to help remedy issues when they arise whether technical or content related.
