I learnt that instructors use different strategies to reach common goals in online teaching. I also learnt that key skills and questions instructors must master adaptability and using best practices to be effective.

I learned that online instructor's immediate presence and reach is very important for students in case they need support and help.

Synchronous learning involves real-time interaction between learners and instructors, oftentimes delivered through live webinars or online classrooms.  One key aspect of e-learning include the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS), course design and the delivery of digital content.

A smoothly running course (in terms of the technical side) can positively impact student retention, whereas, a poorly run course that causes students to encounter technical issues can lead to poor student retention.

I've learned that I need to be aware of how to manage the software in which the students will be using for their e-learning.

I've learned that two teachers can be given the same material to teach, but they will inevitably both have two different teaching styles.  As long as the materials are presented to the students in a logical, chronological and user friendly format - there shouldn't be any issues as long as the students are understanding the information.

Online teaching etiquette is important to student outcomes

Engaging with students when learning support is very important in an online setting.

will implement what i learned

This module has helped me understand effective strategies for engaging students in a learning environment, including the use of interactive tools and clear communication. I plan to apply these insights by designing more structured student centered- lessons that encourage participation and foster a supportive virtual learning community.

I learned some additional techniques to use in my online classes.

Course delivery is especially important when teaching online content. Students must be able to access the content with ease, and when they have issues they should be able to access technical support immediately in order to not become frustrated.

One have to become familiar with the learning platform and be ready to adjust teaching style in order to stay most relevant.

These sections highlight the importance of understanding the learning system to more holistically support students in their learning goals (beyond simple instruction).

i intend to implement these teaching strategies/ techniques into my practice

Quick response, prompt feedback, and timely communication will provide professional teaching support to students.

Clear and effective communication with online from the start is the key to success.

Wrapped up the first module of the EL102. We explored key elements of quality online learning—like course structure, navigation, student support, and interaction strategies. Great insights to rethink how we teach and connect in virtual environments.

I have learned that if I am not proficient and knowledgeable during the online courses, then my students will feel the same.

It is of utmost importance to be constantly trained in order to provide a timely and better response to our students.
