Effective and Efficient Instructional Strategies --> Leveraging Technology for Student Success

Post what you've learned about this topic and how you intend to apply it. Feel free to post questions and comments too.

I am currently working in a hybrid system, with class time and online activities and discussions which I monitor. I would think a flipped would work best when the out of class portion is more of a review or background information to the activity in class. It can also be a prompt with a question that might pique someone's interest in fining out more in class.

Technology can help increase student engagement and help to make the lesson relatable to real life.

I found that letting the students have some control of their learning is important. The flipped classroom method is a great way to keep students engaged and accountable for a part of their learning.

Student engagement through the use of technology, flipping the classroom and giving choices to students will increase understanding through varied learning opportunities.

its better to reward students for being on time then to punish students for being late due to things beyond their control like traffic accidents or being kept over at work.

We are set up with canvas to have a flipped classroom, but often students do not come prepared. I want to work on a way to reward students for coming to class prepared

Allowing students to make choices on how they will be greaded is a great idea as long as they are limited to some perameters.

Let students make choices, they feel they are in control.

Using technology the right way can make learning smoother and give students more ways to understand the material, whether it’s through videos, interactive tools, or simple apps that keep them on track.

Students must have a clear expectation of what is expected of them. We must allow technology in our classroom for our students to be successful.

Leveraging technology for student success means using digital tools intentionally to support learning, engagement, and accessibility, not just for convenience. When aligned with clear objectives, technology can enhance collaboration, provide timely feedback, support differentiation, and help students take ownership of their learning. I intend to apply this by choosing tools that directly support instruction, improve efficiency, and create more meaningful learning experiences rather than using technology for its own sake.

As students use more technology, adapting to it is important. Used correctly, technology can support their learning goals. It also allows students to engage more actively with content, collaborate with peers, and access resources that support diverse learning needs.

Expectations set standards for students to be able to succeed.

Students learning styles and preferences are impacted by the period in which they grew up. Net Generation students differ from Baby Boomers and Generation X students in a number of ways and these differences requires teachers to consider ways to effectively reach the new learners.

The expectations should be made clear to the students, through samples of acceptable work. The students need to know what is expected of them, as well as how their work will be graded.

Students need to know what is expected of them as well as how their work will be graded.

Being adaptable with technology use can enhance student learning and overall experience in the course

It is important to change up how you teach to touch on different learning styles.

Digital technology can be an effective method of engaging students both during class and outside of class.
