I like the multiple answer type questions, where the student needs to identify several answers out of four, instead of a single answer. It's also interesting to sprinkle more False in True/False, since its more indicative of actual learning.

Plan ahead and decide what you are most interested in testing for in order to apply the correct testing format.
This makes me realize that the amount of prep especially to construct good essay style and multiple choice and matching questions is a lot, more than the prep time allows for instructors currently. I definitely need to be intentional with creating the tests. I now want to go back through all of our current tests we use and edit them for reliability and validity, as they were all created by people in the past with no formal education/teaching knowledge.
I find the best assessments in my content area are performance assessments. Most students can shine and excel in some area of these which make them a safer option and more engaging in a whole class environment.
CTE courses use a lot of skill based tests which seem relative to how we are "tested" in the real world. It's puzzling why other content areas do not utilize it more.
Assessment's are a great way of finding out your student's strengths and weaknesses.

As an instructor we must not be intimidated of trying out the different learning assessments, but we must also make sure that we choose assessments that correlate to what we are teaching the students.

I have learned of the various test you can use to test your students' knowledge. I will use the skills application test to test my students knowledge.
Not every test is a perfect system that can measure a complete understanding. However, it is important to reflect what has been taught and retained and learned. Tests are stressful and it is not supposed to alienate students who don't get the right answers, instead to help identify improvements.
A better understanding of different types of tests to offer the students. The type of information that is being covered and which style works best.

In this module, I learned how to better understand the reasons for selecting the various types of questions, evaluations and tips for constructing questions within each type. As well as how they compare and contrast to one another.
Great information. New to me, however, makes sense on tailoring your test to the blooms level and the testing required to assess the students knowledge.
This module emphasized the importance of designing clear, relevant, and varied assessments that align with course objectives. I plan to use a mix of question types to assess both factual knowledge and higher-order thinking while customizing standardized tests to fit my teaching approach.
