This module emphasized the importance of designing clear, relevant, and varied assessments that align with course objectives. I plan to use a mix of question types to assess both factual knowledge and higher-order thinking while customizing standardized tests to fit my teaching approach.
 

Assessment methods should reflect both the technical skills and soft skills needed for career success. By using both formative and summative assessments, including real-world applications, I can effectively measure student progress and prepare them for future challenges in the workforce.

From this module, I’ve learned that questioning is key to student engagement and understanding. I’ll apply diverse questioning techniques, like using both open and closed questions, giving wait time, and encouraging student participation. I plan to use the Socratic method for deeper discussions and redirect questions to other students to promote peer learning. These strategies will create a more interactive classroom and encourage critical thinking.

This module emphasized the importance of understanding and addressing different learning styles—Auditory, Written, Visual, and Kinesthetic—in the classroom. It highlighted that students have unique preferences for how they learn, and as an instructor, it’s crucial to vary teaching methods to engage all learners.
