I've learned it's important to allow students to know who you are and how you are qualified to teach the subject. It's equally important to know who your students are and why they are taking the course.

This module helps me to proyect my interactive level within the clssroom enviroment

An open biography from instructor to student following a student biography to instructor is a great way to initiate personal relationships, building the trust it requires to move forward in conducting a successful course.

In "Projecting Your Presence" module, we first reviewed strategies used in a traditional in-person classroom setting.  We then learned ways to convert these strategies, to fit and to work with an online classroom setting.  I learned strategies for an instructor to show their presence, to establish relationships, and to be interactive, in an online classroom.  We have to be creative in finding ways to establish instructor-student and student-student relationships in an online classroom setting.

learned the importance of making ever effort to getting to know your students despite the virtual platform.

There were some great tips in this section in how to project myself more into the course and to build trust with the students.  The personal welcome message sent to each student by the end of the week with my attached biography and a reminder of my office hours is a great tip and I plan on implementing that immediately!

I learned that to be an effective instructor, it is imparitive to get to know your students background specifically academic and occupational.

In this module I've learned, how to be present in an online scenario, how to have authority in an online scenario and how to establish a relationship with online students.  I liked the suggestion of asking each student to tell me and everyone a little something about themselves in a discussion forum along with myself providing a short biography for them to get to know me a little better as well.

Students should have a personal experience with the faculty to create an real and open learning environment, allowing the student to see who you are gives them a connection and respect to the faculty.

It was intresting how projecting your presence can be done in several ways and its importnce.

Proving a brief bio  of yourself and your achievements is important. Also writing a welcome letter is engaging.

I need to know my students and I need to explain everything in detail duing an online course.

This is a good reminder to have the students post their bio, either as a first week discussion or as an assignment.

From previous experience, I have learned that giving students an opportunity to introduce themselves is great, but you have to limit it to academics or career goals only otherwise you can get some very personal info that should not be shared in this format, as well as some long winded diatribes.

An online course instructor is like a boatman or a sailor who sails the students acroos the ocean of knowledge. The online teaching strategies discussed here are very informative

E learning promoted distance learning. Whther synchronous or asynchronous a good rapport between the course instructor and student is critical to learning

It is important to build professional relationships with students and to keep in mind that some students may have special needs and may need to be accomodated.

I learned the need to establish good rapport with students the first week of on line class. send a welciome letter on the first day of the class. before the first week ends, send the personalised message to each student., so hthey can amke good rapport witht he students. Continue to address needs of the student in a timely manner to enhance the learning needs of the student.

I think a great wat to project your presence and authority is to speak from the heart with your educational experience, work expererience and any hobbies related to the field of education you are trying to teach. Students look to their instructors and seeing there experience and background helps them overcome any obsticals and allows them to be successfull.

Like any relationship, it is important to understand the information you want to share with students and vice versa about yourself. Consider that even if it is online education, it must be taken care of on any platform, be it the portal or social networks.
