Engaging students from the beginning of the course and providing clear and concise feedback will enhance student learning.

As an instuctor I have many roles to play to become a good facilitator to my students. Feedback from students will determine if I am presenting my lessons properly, and what changes I need to make to improve my teaching capabilities.

There are a variety of ways learning can occur, this is not only in terms of the availability of students for synchronous or asynchronous teaching but the level of responsibility a student can manage for the own learning. Providing approaches that allow students a great deal of flexibility and learning from one another can result in exceptional learning but not all students are ready for this style.

Student feedback is crucial for creating an effective learning environment. The lines of communication between the student and teacher must be strong if I am to improve as an educator.

Students responding to other students will not only enhance student engagement but will build community with the course. Ill be adding more student to student responding to my classroom for sure!

Feedback from students as to the effectiveness of your teaching style is necessary to acheive a positive outcome.

Receiving student feedback and adjusting your presentation techniques promote better understanding for the students

Instructors should use feedback from students to help with current and future courses.

For students who are used to an in person class it helps to provide extra facilitation to help them become accomadated with a different method of delivery.

Engaging students in the online environment is crucial, no mater whether the course is Synchronous or Asynchronous.

Having good communication with the students will help the students to know the course expections.

I appreciated the different roles the teacher plays and how it's a blend of a few (Guide/Social Director/Admin/TA) depending on the format of the course.

Important to engage the student in their learning. May need to use various technologies. Students need timely feedback.

At the end of each of your courses, it is important to review how well you communicated the assignments to the students, how the assignment was assessed, and how you could improve the assignment. It's also important to provide a strong leadership.

Communication is the key.

I think the most important thing is to evaluate how an activity went. If it did not go well, not assuming it was the students' fault,  but instead to adjust our practice, directions, examples, and learning leading up to that course activity. If you did not get the intended outcomes, adjust.

Online instruction involves so much more in terms of facilitation than would be expected in a face to facee course. Specifically, a lot of practices that might come across naturally in a classroom environment (i.e. promoting collegiality and being a "coach") must be done clearly and through its own mechanisms.

There needs to be clear instructions for the students. If several students are scoring low it is important to check why and address the issue so the student get the most of out the lesson with the best understanding.

It was good to hear that the teaching program includes feedback as a major ingredient to student success.  Many students are new to online and they require as much feedback as possible to gauge how they are doing, whether they are understanding the directions.  Once timely feedback and communication are established the students seem to move into a rhythmic study pattern and it becomes easier to begin new subjects.  They come to rely on this interaction to guide them.

There are no nonverbal cues in an online setting, so I need to be clear and concise in giving feedback. I also need to be proactive in learning what my students' needs are in making them successful.

There were alot of great keys points made and how the position goes beyond teaching. Being consistent and making a pathway to learning is crucial for the students and the instructor. Points need to be made very clear.
