It is important to review the course content and the CMS regularly as many areas might change within a short window of time.  I found that technology is changing rapidly and in order to keep up, I seem to be reviewing all the time...A must to be a great teacher!

Transferring a course to an online format will take time and must be thought out specifically to match the learning objectives.

A guide on the side is a great way to explain a facilitator.   Having been a "teacher" based in lectures in a F2F class, online teaching is an adjustment and a learning curve to ride along the way.

Taking student feedback, evaluating all course content and their comments is a great way to look at a course internally for improvement.

It is very important to set up rules and regulations but most important it is communication of these set rules that the students and facilitator must understand.  Having a good discussion board is key to the success of students freely and openly asking questions.

I learned that it is very important to MATCH your teaching and learning tools to your style.  The different tools available for online learning truly can make your teaching style pop!  I had not thought of this previously.  I will pay attention to this very important technique.

I have taken the time to create individual conferences to not only meet the students but to give them "positive" feedback and call out something they are doing well!  I have less than 10 students in the class so this will work.  They tend to " glow" and love being recognized for something they didn't think I noticed!  It creates trust.  It does take time and I try to do this around the midterm time when I have assessed them and can give them a shout out.  Positive reinforcement really works.

Excellent!   I had a similar site but I have now decided to add this to all of my courses so the students have easy access and can format their papers appropriately!

Thanks for the link to this site - it is terrific

I have a question on how to develop a Wiki.  I understand what it is but not sure how to get started. Thanks
