Guidelines must be developed whether using synchronous or asynchronous methods. Organization and revision are just an everyday part of online learning when you are the facilitator .
Commication is the key in whatever style of online classes you are using
I prefer synchronous learning myself. That way, I can respond immediately to any questions or problems that arise for my students.
There needs to be a mix of asynchronous and synchronous learning tools incorporated into a class, so that students are engaged, but these tools have to be organized and well structured.
I plan to reevaluate the tools that are used in my online courses and really take a loot at if they are effective and have the proper structures are in place in my online courses.

Guidelines must be set in place and students shoud be held accountble for their work. This is something tht should be communicated in the beginning of the course. Follow-ups and holding the students accountable for themselves is imperative to the student's success. It is also important to have a common forum for posting questions as it provides students an opporunity to learn from each other. This can also reduce the teacher's incoming emails. Both the teachers and students should understand the process of worker smarter, not harder, when in relates to online learning.
I did not know that you can take couses that are sycnchronous or that it even excited on-line. I just figured it was more of asyncronous form but this course has taught me that you cannnot only use diffrent types of technology and assesments but how.
I learned I need to pay more attention to my pattern of teaching and to make sure that I give rapid communication for assignment feedback.

This module empasized that with consistency in course design, activities, and teaching style, students learn what is expected of them. It is important that this organization is laid out before the course begins, and that there is constant communication throughout to ensure student success in the course.
Whether using synchronous, asynchronous format or a combination of the two approaches, four important components need to be present. Thorough organization, detailed communication, clear and defined guidelines and a consistent teaching pattern all lead to a successful learning outcome.

This really made me think about the approach I will take to teaching my on-line course. I think I will mostly use asynchronous with a weekly Zoom (synchronous) check-in.
The advantages of asynchronous delivery are clear, but doesn't this usually result in poor engagement and low outcomes? What do studies show about this? I can think of ways to keep students engaged, but it seems like this is the hardest part and I don't know how successful others have been at it.
Asynchronous learning doesn't happen at real time and students can come and comment regardless of time zone or location. Nevertheless synchronous and aysnchronous guidelines should be set.
