It is beneficial for the student and faculty to use the college or university resources for students to define the accommodations to be successful in class. this may include more time for assignments or assessments, audio and/or video of lecture, a scribe or assistant or other interventions.
Be sure to let the class know that if they need any accommodations for learning to notify me so I can make sure I can make the necessary adjustments.
I've enjoyed working with many students with learning disabilities in my woodworking class. They often perform at higher than average levels with great results.
Encourage students to always express their needs or leaning habits. Navigate ways to help students with disabilities succeed in the class by communicating and trying different avenues.
Encourage students to come to you and share if they have learning disabilities and to let you know what services have been successful in the past.
I’ve learn how too apply my self to teach students with learning disabilities, by asking questions and doing little things that will help the. Remember what was covered in class like having them voice record the learning lesson.
My takeaway is to be able to know what methods I can use to help the students understand the information from the class.

This was very helpful, I had a student with autism and I wish I had had this class before she came. Thank you, I know how to handle things better!
How difficult it is for someone with dyslexia to try to read some sentences. I hope to be able to offer additional support to students with any disabilities in order to help them be successful.
I learned that students with learning disabilities are capable of success when provided with appropriate supports and accommodations, rather than lowered expectations. I plan to apply this by communicating with students about their needs, using flexible instructional strategies, and providing accommodations such as additional time and varied response options to support their learning.
Students with learning disabilities may require additional time to complete tasks and benefit from an individualized approach.
I intend to apply this by engaging in direct dialogue with students to identify successful past strategies and utilizing clear formatting to ensure anatomical concepts remain inclusive and navigable for everyone.
upgrading course materials to include boxes and such will be an easy adjustment, also encouraging the students to self advocate is something to encourage more often
I am more aware of the needs & challenges each student may bring with them to the classroom environment.
Students with learning disabilities usually need more time to read and understand and may need further explanations.
Working with students who have disabilities is most effective when you engage with them and ask what has been helpful in the past. With large class sizes, it is sometimes difficult to have one-on-one time, but this is needed so the student can get the most out of the class, which would be the same as the rest of the class.
