By providing support to students with learning disabilities they can be successful in any course. Never lower expectations for any student. I also learned about IEPs and the age limit for them, and also how to use them to better help us as instructors to provide support for our current adult learners.

Concrete applications of new terms is extremely helpful to english as a second language learners. Repeating the procedures several times is a good way to help these learners.

Effective monitoring means interacting with each student. Do not allow any one student to consume more of your time! When planning groups, diversity in the groups is critical so everyone can learn from each other. Monitor the groups closely.

Mini lectures, students retain about 3-5 points per session so be intentional with the material you want them to retain. Never make assumptions on what students know and examples are always an important tool for learning!

I learned about the Can-Spam Act and making sure that every email follows the rules to be sure we are not violating anything.

All information provided to students should be factual and disclosed to them in multiple channels, print and website!

Learned about the Ability to Benefit! Learned to give all information concisely and continue to do enrollments with integrity!

I learned to adhere to all the policies of the institution, but to make sure that not only me but every single person that works for the institution is just as important. Students trust us and that is a big responsibility to have. Be sure to speak to maintain integrity, facts, and honesty during every student interaction.

How the entire process finishes is just as important as the start. Ask questions, take thorough notes, and always have a clear and detailed answer if needed. Tone of voice matters!

Student records should always be kept up to date. Organization is extremely important. Be available for the interviewer and if you do not know something it is always key to find the answer promptly!
