About me

After putting both of my boys through college, I made the decision to return to school and fulfill my life-long dream of becoming a nurse.  Through many years, scholarships, tears and laughter, I went from a working ADN to my BSN and finally, my MSN in Education.  I am finally able to teach future nurses not only how to take excellent care of their patients, just as I do, but in how to take care of themselves.  I am a goal-driven advocate in the protection of nurses and hope to someday stand before Congress advocating for safer nurse to patient ratios.  On a personal note,  I spend my time, when not at work, enjoying boating and cooking with my beautiful family and grandchildren who keep me on my toes.  I feel the hand of God in all of my thoughts and actions and find a great peace with Him in charge!

Activity

My big takeaway was teaching with excitement and competence.  If I engage my students in this manner, I will retain their attention and make them equally excited to "what's up next?"
