Post what you've learned about this topic and how you intend to apply it. Feel free to post questions and comments too.
Your content must satisfy multiple types of learners....and not just linear. What if they do this...what if they do that? Your content has to be able to answer these possibilities.
I am going to revise my instruction to include all the new information learned in this module.
Linear delivery is not always the most effective teaching method.
Comment on Evelyn Gant's post: I fully concur. This will indeed benefit everyone!
It would be helpful if we began class with each student completing a brief assessment to identify their learning styles. This would provide instructors with a way to customize the class flow accordingly.
Instructors have to be mindful that it can be easy to teach content based on how they themselves learn. However, that means they may only be reaching a certain percentage of students in the classroom whose learning style is similar to theirs. Recognizing that you have to develop activities and share resources that accommodate various learning styles is an example of inclusion.
There are so many different styles of learning and our course material should reflect , encourage and facilitate that.
Realizing that the students will have on-going flow of information coming from the internet and we as experts in subject matter will have to provide guidance to relevant information that will help their development.
I think it is very important that teachers should not dictate when or how interaction takes place but only that it should. Where teacher expertise supports the process is in guiding the student to recognize relevant and helpful interactions as opposed to ineffective wastes of time.
This module has provided me with a valuable tool to more accurately assess the individual needs of my students. By understanding different learning styles and multiple intelligences, I can design activities and assessments that allow each student to demonstrate their strengths more effectively. Additionally, I can provide more personalized feedback, which will motivate them to continue learning and improving.
I have printed the major learning style models and their specific differences and characteristics, by Felder for future reference.
There are different kind of learners and intelligences, it is important to use diverse teaching methods and tools to teach, in order to achieve the learning goals in a diverse group of students
I never thought of the term nomadic as a way to describe the student learning experience as it goes online, but that is exactly what it is. This means that if they are not rooted in the classroom, they needed rooting through consistent goals and structures in an online environment as given by an instructor.
hybrid classes can relay content to different learning styles
Incorporating other ways to teach the content so that students with various learning styles can understand the content being taught.
there are several ways a student can learn and grasp content and it is our job to ensure we help guide them to their preferred method.
One of the most important topics was inclusion. Inclusion is key to ensure that content fosters an environment of learning in the online platform. It helps to ensure that various methods are used to ensure that all students feel as if they are part of the class.
I plan to continue to include the different learning styles within my lesson to ensure every student has a chance to thrive.
It's important to incorporate different methodologies of teaching so that all learning styles are positively addressed, along with creating an inclusive environment.
