I have learned that as an instructor, I need to fulfill three main roles: model, manager, and motivator. These roles guide me in demonstrating professional behavior, organizing the classroom effectively, and inspiring students to stay engaged in their learning.
I've learned management is very about preparation of both content and process. I also learned about how to develop a useful professional development plan and why this is an important component to the work. It made me consider the culture at the college in the way it perceives professionalism and how I can best model that professionalism in my appearance, tone, and delivery of course content.
