To best educate our students we need to be more aware of their culture, race, and religion as these factors can drastically change the best way to teach some ELL students.

I was most surprised that instructors visit a student's home to see what kind of complex cultural living environments students come from!

Cultural sensitivity is important for instructors to know and understand. It entails being open-minded and willing to learn from others whose beliefs and values may differ from our own.

US civil rights act mentioned. Content would be better to be Canadian reference instead. And obviously, this section was written prior to the last presidency.

however, getting to know the students, understanding more about their cultures and traditions, is very valuable in making that connection to the students and building a relationship of trust and mutual respect.

Civil Rights Act protects individuals from discrimination e.g., race, color.

To best meet the needs of diverse learners, instructors must be mindful and fluent in cultural context, but not stereotype them. Title VI offers protection from discrimination.

We should take time to learn about and be mindful about our students' cultural and linguistic backgrounds to better understand their behaviors and communication styles.

It is critical to understand students cultural beliefs, religion, and race. Getting to know the families of your students can help bridge the gap between the home/school connection.

Empathy and compassion are two fundamental tools for success in the classroom.

It is important to understand the diversity of the classroom.

It is very important for instructors to fully understand cultural backgrounds to be able to properly instruct an ELL student. Cultural differences, family situations are just some of the things that can affect the way they learn and understand.

Instructors must strive for awareness of how race and ethnicity play out in the classroom. Resources reflecting diverse experiences should be included in the instructional process. Instructors should seek out resources to help them prepare to work with diverse student populations.

No students should be denied equal education based on Coloe, race, nor religion.  All students  sghould be treated eually

Instructors have to take culture into consideration.  Just because an ELL student uses English in the classroom they may hardly use it outside of school.

It is extremely important to be aware of our students in the classroom. By taking time to know our students not only by their name but

some of their background we can avoid possible complications. A Instructor needs to be personable, approachable and Kind.  Little signs of care can go a long way.

Everyone comes from different backgrounds, including the instructor. Taking some time to get to know them and things about them will exponentially help the students feel more comfortable as well as the instructor!

It is clear that ESL learners have special considerations and I will always remember this and continue to facilitate all learners who have communication challenges with English.

Would undocumented students be comfortable with a home visit from their instructor?

We need to remember that ELL student's culture, race, and religion can affect the way students learn.
