I really like several of the suggestions for engaging students, especially the suggestion of "Special Day of the week of month". It is lighthearted and fun.
How to deal with students on adult level to create a relationship based on professional aspects in which are required in the work field as expectation of employers
Be creative and fun to create a learning environment in which your students want to be in.
Don't baby your students.Treat them fairly
Greeting students daily and presenting a posistive vibes is very welcoming to students. The classroom area should be clean un cluttered for an inviting atmospher. Proving your contact information and hours is also important, make sure to keep students engaged and informed during the course. These small things will help to keep students retention.
its always good to say good morning to each student, perhaps have a safety meeting before lab starts explain the situation clearly and ask if anyone has any questions or comments
The most important thing about teaching is to enjoy what you are doing and to allow that enthusiasm to show. This will set the stage for a great learning environment.
The instructor or teacher must be aware that each class and each student is not the same and that we must prepare it according to goals and objectives, we must be creative and demonstrate that we are passionate about teaching because the student will perceive that and their response will be in relation to what we as instructors provide them.
Start class with a lighthearted story related to the topic, allow students to contribute to the story with their own experiences.
This will allow students and instructors to build a rapport and ease into the learning environment.
This module has helped me understand strong strategies for improving student retention, such as proactive outreach, personalized support, and fostering a sense of community.

It is important to be a fair and honest teacher. If you are excited about what you are teaching, students are more likely to be engaged.
Remember to be enthusiastic about what you are teaching, be approachable for students.
Student retention can be increased with better one on one connections with students. Walking around during class time projects to check in with each one or pulling those that are struggling to the side to ask what’s going on has proved to be very successful in maintaining that instructor student bond.
Student retention can be improved by creating a supportive campus environment, providing academic and non-academic support, and intervening early when students are struggling.
As an instructor, it is important to stay enthusiastic about the subject of teaching, setting the tone for the classroom with help students stay motivated to do well and pass the course.
Remembering to be enthusiastic about teaching and the content I am presenting. Even if it is the "boring" stuff, finding ways to show enthusiasm and engage the students. The phase, "if you don't care, they don't care" is very true.
This module taught me various strategies institutions can implement to improve student retention. I intend to apply these strategies by encouraging early intervention in my academic or professional setting by advocating for mentorship programs and supporting inclusive learning environments by promoting peer collaboration and engagement. I can contribute to a more supportive and successful learning environment by integrating these retention strategies.
I learned that we should require nothing less than the student's very best effort. We should let them know that we expect high quality work and that our classroom is an active learning environment. Get know each and every student. Have fun in your classroom.
