Starting the class with a joke of the day allows you to take the temperature of the class that day. I also like the idea of bringing in friends of the trade to reinforce the expectations that the focus in the classroom carries over into the realworld.

I liked the horse reigns analogy video. I agree the more you try to control and force learning the harder it is to effectively communicate ideas. Letting the students drive subject related conversations can be an effective way to get participation from more students.

Have fun in the classroom. Have an enjoyable atmosphere. Be professional at all times.

Students who set realistic, achievable yet challenging goals are more likely to stay motivated and focused. I plan to observe each student's strengths and weaknesses and then guide them in creating attainable goals that support their path toward a successful career.

Getting to know your students and letting them know that they are important will help you to better instruct them every day in class

Learning students names shows the respect you have for them. This helps to develop rapport with students and get the course off to a good start.

Being enthusiastic about what you're teaching is key to not only grabbing but also keeping their attention.

I learned how important it is to have a lesson plan but not try to include everything. it may need to be changed or even miss some points.

I learned about ways to understand student needs and create a positive learning environment in which each can succeed.

Supporting students and recognizing their met goals, even if they are small, encourages them to keep going. Sometimes students are having a hard time, and the kind, friendly words you offer may be all it takes to keep them from dropping out of the course.

Knowing your students just by learning their names, enhances communication.  communication, allow them to feel as if they are included, a part of something great.

I learned that student success isn’t just about teaching the material—it’s also about creating a supportive environment. Things like making students feel comfortable, safe, accepted, and respected, learning their names, understanding their backgrounds, and giving positive feedback all make a big difference. Personalizing lessons and showing how the material applies to their goals helps students stay motivated and engaged. Essentially, the “human factor” is just as important as the content itself.

utilizing multiple ways of connecting with and motivating students will be the best path for retention

Encourage students, keep them engaged, and make sure you are proving a welcoming environment.

One thing I learned about student retention is that building relationships with students makes a big difference in their success. Simple things like greeting students, learning their names, and recognizing their progress help them feel respected and supported. Adult learners also stay more engaged when they can actively participate and see how the material connects to their goals.

to share a story with them or even a joke before starting the class. You can also let them know that are good with them also telling something they might have done over the weekend

From this module, I have learned that creating a positive environment with constructive feedback is important to success in student learning

Make your classroom a warm, relatable place.  Maintain focus, but have fun with the course!

Focus on student when they are speaking to show respect.
