To be both human, and humane.

One key idea that stood out to me is the importance of building strong relationships between students and educators. When students feel supported, valued, and connected to their learning, environment, and persist through challenges.

An instructor’s enthusiasm and genuine commitment to teaching play a key role in motivating students and fostering their engagement and success.

It is important to stay out of the "rut" of teaching, continue to be enthusiastic about the subject matter, and convey that excitement while teaching.

great class content.

The students are what is important and they need to feel like they belong so that they will want to learn.

Opening the class in a "lighthearted" way allows you gauge the mood of the students but also gives them a moment to relax before starting the lesson material.

That student retention has just as much to do with the instructor's enthusiasm for the subject as the student's willingness and excitement about the material being taught.

Using different ways to learn and remember students by name. That is something I always respected about my teachers growing up. Also, having prizes for competitive goals is definitely a good thing. Just pay attention to who all has succeeded and who hasn't. In doing so, you find who in your class needs some extra help. Pour into them a little extra and watch them glow when they win the next competition.

I intend on boosting the engagement level with students by adopting personal relationships with them; and by using organized learning methods.

Bringing excitement to learning a subject that may not be as interesting is always a challenge.  I tend to tell a story of when I made a mistake and how I dealt with it when trying to make a connection with the subject and the importance of why it is important to us in our field.  Take a serious situation and point out the WHY and HOW it came to be along with the understanding mistakes WILL happen to us all but comfort them in knowing in this class/lab is where we are practicing.  Make mistakes now as to not make the same mistake in the field.  Recognizing progress and giving encouragement the whole way.

Opening class with a joke or something light-hearted is helpful to set a fun tone for the class.

create space where students can relax and focus on what's being given to them. Rather than a space of stress.

Student success depends on feeling supported, respected, and engaged. Building a rapport, creating a safe environment, and connecting learning to real-life goals are essential for adult learners. I will be sure to apply this knowledge by providing encouragement, feedback, and by creating meaningful learning experiences that relate to their goals.

Keep each topic engaging with an enjoyable atmosphere

I will acknowledge students first thing as they walk into class.

As an instructor, I will provide a positive and respectful class environment along with goals and expectations, offering recognitions and rewards with a dash of enthusiasm and fun.

Acknowledging students first thing at the start of class, encouraging them and validating their progress plays a big role in the all-around success of students and their leaning experience.

I have learned that you can have both an inviting and fun classroom while also holding them to a standard
