Being respectful in class is important, making space for others in class to participate and keep them engaged helps class dynamic. It is also important to tailor information for each individual student to make sure they succeed.

Keeping students engaged is important when it comes to their success. If students are struggling, being disruptive or even need a break it it’s important to help them refocus on task.

Respecting students time and space is very important for them to feel comfortable to be successful. Being respectful to student also allows them to take up space in class and provide their personal input into classes and their peers.

Allowing students to provide their personal input into classes is very helpful to others. It gives other people an outlook on other walks of life and gives you a chance to encourage others to step out of their comfort zone.

When going over delivery options I learned that students enjoy having various options when it comes to learning. We have students attention for about 15-18 minutes per lecture and it is important to really focus on keeping that attention to encourage student learning.

When watching the Harvard Business video I learned that not only showing up early or on time makes you prepared. Being prepared to teach a class means engaging with your students is important as well. In preparation for class he asked one student what her and her group had read, to me that was very insightful. That one simple question can give him knowledge of what his students were able to complete and what they thought of the articles. This helped me understand that when asking students these questions it can help you gage on where to go next in… >>>

Reflecting on this module I learned a few things but something I recall most is professional and personal competence. When I first think about the personal and professional aspects about myself I assume that it would be two different versions. My personal competencies and personal competencies are a reflection of one another. Being professional means being on time, looking well put together, and being prepared. It is my personal responsibility to always keep developing this skills to not only be a better version of myself but to better support students and their success.
