About me

Labor day weekend 1981 Cleveland airshow. It was during the air traffic controllers strike. President Regan was rebuilding American pride in our country and military. During the airshow I walked inside a massive C5A Galaxy, the immense size of the aircraft was etched in my mind. I graduated in 1984 and enrolled in Texas Aero Tech, located at Dallas Love field. Upon graduation in September of 1985, Lockheed Georgia company came to our school. They offered a month long sheet metal training course, upon successful completion, To my surprise they said I would be working on C5A Galaxy, the same plane I walked through four years earlier at the Cleveland airshow. In November of 1985 I started at Lockheed Georgia company. I have worked on many different types of aircraft in the last 40 years but the C5A and C5B Galaxy  is where it all started.

Activity

Timely feedback on student question. Student interaction singular or in a group to build on the subject being taught. Assessment quizzes to gage retention. Review of material for final test, or some of the thing I learned in this moduleComment on Aricka McCauley's post

My take a way is make your online line class mirror a live class, with the exception that question are asked on line. Promptness in answering students question (24hr avg.) keep student from becoming frustrated.

I have learned a lot about syllabus and module, assessment quizzes and proper structure of a online coarse. I learned this by taking this online class. The challenge is how to be online present during discussion topics so student get there questions answered. Learning how to keep students engaged online. I am excited to learn and expand upon these skills.

Establish a connection with your students early on. They really don't care how much you know till they know how much.

Connecting with students is a combination of academic and awareness of the emotional state of class and individual students. Developing rapport with your students help them to not be afraid to fail.

I have had the pleasure with working with Teens. They don't care how much you know, till they know how much you care.Comment on Michael Sliman's post

The concept of the mobile classroom is a revelation in teaching methodology. Well prepared plans coupled with a connection with your students equals a atmosphere for curious learning.

My evaluation of essays has alot to do with the dominant personality trait a student has. Writing about a subject is a blend of technical knowledge, application, and what the final results were. How to think out side of the box. Competency in grading essays will come with experience.

My take away was by asking thought provoking questions you draw the student into wanting to engage in class. Learning effective ways to control the extroverts zeal to talk and the introverts reluctance to talk, is import to control environment of learning in the classroom.

I can relate to this module. I am a Gen-X I didn't grow up with computers or cell phones. The world is now digital, and with the advent of AI technology, staying current requires adapting to the times in which we live. Flexibility in the concepts we bring to teaching is critical in todays fast paced world.
