Having guest speakers, taking field trips, and keeping your classroom organized keeps the students engaged.

Large group field trips may be impractical and difficult. Perhaps an assignment to study, interview or tour a facility would help students build networks, and become familiar with the local industry. This could even be a step in the interview process.

In the classroom, it is important to come in prepared. If you come in a mess with papers flying, you distract your students and delay learning start times. Come in early, and prepared.

It is important to be organized and ready for each class. This is a way to teach students professionalism.

It's always helpful to be reminded that the goal is (student) learning, not teaching!

Be prepared and and ready for class by having materials ready.

Known the subject being teach, will give an idea how the class will respond, if its boring the attention will go away, but if making interesting , allowing the students to participate, they will be focus and busy.

I really liked the idea of different colored handouts. Also reflecting on how I can make the students comfortable.

Organization and learning your students can result in teaching and learning empowerment as well as enjoyment.

Being prepared will help you be successful in the classroom overall.  Working with coworkers, observing behaviors, think outside of the box (field trip, guest speakers) show students how important the subject matter is.  Show the importance in the real world.

Guest speakers are an effective way to bring about real-world experience and application to the classroom setting.

Always be over prepared as a new instructor.
