Without an understanding of the impact of sexual violence on a person, the victim’s behavior, such as wavering cooperation, avoidance of questions, or nervousness, could indicate to an untrained observer that the person may not be telling the truth, which can be a critical conclusion in he said/she said situations. To someone trained in what to expect from trauma victims, this behavior is better understood as related to the trauma and may be evaluated more objectively in determining a person’s credibility.

The U.S. Department of Education has provided significant flexibility for institutions to incorporate its minimum requirements for prevention and response to sexual harassment and sexual violence. Moreover, law and guidance in this area is still in flux. Institutions should view the process of refining their Title IX and VAWA policies as a journey rather than an end by building in ongoing training and evaluation of the adequacy of their current policies.

I wonder how this law will adapt or what adjustments will be made as technology increases and more information is available. I was amazed about how easy it was to search up people and get their address and how much they make annually. I can only imagine that it would be a lot harder for students to protect their identifiable information.

Hello, I have been a program director for a Paramedic and EMT program in Florida since 2015. I have learned through experience and training that the importance of the admission staff is paramount to the school's success. They ensure that we are not only in compliance but also admitting students who fit the programs for the right reasons and, therefore, are ready to learn.

While the highest purpose of a chemistry lab is not about pouring chemicals, the act of handling and pouring chemicals can be a critically important skill, depending on the nature of the chemicals.  In elementary school mixing vinegar and baking soda would not really matter, as there can be little harm. And while there are some careers in chemistry where you never touch chemicals, a lab does have safe handling of the chemicals as a skill... how to use a pipette, how to pour without splashing, etc.

Culture of compliance starts with the institutional plan.

Transparency & full disclosure is the only option.

Integrity and never make false misleading promises to the students. 

There are clear rules and guidelines that must be followed for the school to be with in compliance of TWC and CSC. 

The first module is clear and very informative and it gives a much useful terminology glossary 

During my training, I have learned it's very important for the Admissions team to be familiar with the marketing and advertising plans for our institution. This allows a better understanding to what prospective students already know about the institution.
