What I have learnt today

I have learnt  the importance of knowing one's strength and weaknesses so one can be productive in his/her role.I have also learnt that being in management ,one needs to emulate postitive work ethics as employers are more likely to copy what the managers do at work.If an employee works under a manager who is efficient ,professional and takes his/her job serious,that will breed competitive and competent employees.

Sometimes it gets so hard that I just cant do anything... one of my strenghts, when I feel i'm under lots of stress, I try something completely new.. e.g checking out free online courses  something totally different from my area of profession.

What I learnt

-Self assessment is important and it helps in knowing strenghts and weaknesses; therby giving a better clue when making decisions.

-Employees copy what their managers do, come to work early, they follow suit.

-Ethics are a guide on what is wrong / right and they need to always be considered.

Self assessment is vital. One needs to know their strenghts and weaknesses. This helps in decision making. Inability to identify one's strenghtd and weaknesses can cost one progression and development in the workplace.

In my understanding of all the texts and assessment quiz, i would like to share the the following key takeaways.

  • Set your Personal & Professional Objectives.
  • If a decision is unethical, follow this adage "in doubt-dont"

Lead by Example

Always set the standards in the office by following the rules and guidlines.  Your employees will follow your lead and be much more productive.

 

I have no idea what I'm doing

I have alot of the problems that cause stress all in a short time period. Working long hours, moved, divorce, and serious illness. I have been alot happier being back in Laramie at WyoTech. I am out of the things causing me so much stress. I have new hobbies and new people to spend my time with. My stress is getting better. I am not making evry problem my own and I take time to enjoy life more.

Never Settle.

I learned so new methods to evaluate one self. I have found it very beneficial to take a step back sometimes and evaluate what you are doing so you can improve your performance. While finding improvements dont beat yourself up.
