Some instructors are uncomfortable using personal cell phones to text with students and I know there are software tools that support this functionality without using your actual phone number. What do you all use for text messaging students?

It was good to learn about how technology can be an effective communication tool..  The suggestions on how to use the tools for information and the adjustments for each tool to provide better effective communication.  I appreciated the reminder regarding student feedback.

It is wonderful to learn all the different avenues for communication, including social media. I also feel it is important to ask for feedback from students to guage the effectiveness of the avenues used.

Do your research and find the best way to communicate with your students.

Its inportanat to make sure that the students can respond with the nessasary material

I had never thought of using TikTok in my online classes! I am excited to try it:-)

I have not considered Social Networks as a comunnication channel with students, but definetly I will start implementing it.

Using more polls to make them more aware during the class too.

I've learned that communication technology can serve more than one purpose.

I have learned using an end-of-course evaluation is an excellent way to obtain feedback from students about the entire communication process. I will apply the evaluation to offer suggestions the next time the course is taught or the next time the technology is used.

While I was reading the previous content, I reflected on how much the Covid-19 advanced skills that it was necessary to adopt. The types of technologies recommended based on the number of members in the group has an understandable definition at this time.

It is very important to use appropiate technology during the course and assesment of the technolgy tools used.

Technology should be varied, i.e., one on one, small and large group and it should not hinder the teaching process... it should enhance it.

There are many ways to communicate with students. Online instructors need to research which tools will be most effective and should base their choice on their comfort level with each possible tool. Students should be asked to provide feedback during and after the course in order to effectively evaluate each technology tool's effectiveness.

I learned that there are several ways to communicate with small groups including email, FaceTime, texting, teleconferencing, and telephone.

I have learned that it is important to utilize all forms of technology and software available.  It is also important to make sure the tool is an effective form of communication and works well with the course. As instructors we also need to communicate how we would like our students to communicate with us.  Whether it be text speak or professional speak.  I feel that in order to prepare these students to the working professional world, text speak should not be allowed.

There are many communication platforms today and we are to choose the right format that helps students and instructors communicate effectively.

By understanding the purpose of using the specific communication  platform and receiving feedback from students one can adjust the process as needed to better support the course needs.

I discovered the usefulness of many social networks that I did not know before.

Professors need to understand the technology available to them when communicating with students.

To maintain effective communication, it is necessary to define the means of communication and the tools available and above all the agreement between the students and the teacher. Establish clear guidelines.

Before choosing technology tools to utilize in an online course, you need to evaluate yours options and assure that the tools align with the learning outcomes and communication goals.
