Building confidence in students helps them to have confidence and motivation.

As an instructor our job is to model success. If we have a positive attitude and outlook on the business and course they will also have the same positive outlook on the same. Also keeping the classroom lively will help them want to come back everyday.

Emotional Intelligence or EQ is very important in dealing with students and teaching students. In the classroom its important to feel the energy of the class and try to keep morale high. Telling students what you are about to go over or summarizing and reminding them of what you just went over is a way to help information stick. sandwiching important info at the beginning of class and end of class and using stories and humor in the middle can help hold attention and keep the energy of the class high and engaged. Also teaching students how to be emotionally intelligent can help them be successful as people with higher EQ are more successful than people with just intelligence alone.

Emotional intelligence is key to success because it builds a positive attitude, adaptability to change, and resilience in the face of setbacks. People with EQ handle challenges calmly and see obstacles as opportunities for growth, something we can all work toward developing

Your attitude impacts the attitudes of the students. You will get back what you put out.

I liked the section about EQ being important. People that have emotional intelligence experience success because they have a positive attitude, are acceptable to greater change, and understand that setbacks are not failure but just a part of life. They handle things in stride and this is something we all can continue to grow toward.

Educating students should be a conscious, deliberate act resulting from thoughtful decision making about what to teach and how students can learn best. This is something I feel about everything you do. Everything one does should be conscious and deliberate which shows more effort in realizing whatever goal one has to complete.

Add humor to your interactions. If you are having fun, the students will be more likely to have fun and pay attention. I like to add humor to ensure I am creating a welcoming environment but I must do it while reading the room because there are times where humor is not the right way to go.

In reading this section, no matter what our outlooks are, students come first, and we (professionals) are to treat each student one-by-one with VIP service! That's all!

Coming in with a positive attitude can set the tone for the classroom.

The rapport has to be positive to keep students motivated and engaged.

Being compassionate and empathetic towards students is essential.

Encourage students by giving them a "can do" attitude. Let them know you support them and believe they will succeed.

EQ should be part of every schools curriculum

Safety is key for students to grow

Leading by example helps motivate students. Displaying honesty and emotional intelligence is very important in the classroom setting.

Making a positive impact from the initial point of contact is essential, but then the work is, to not lose that! Every day is a chance for each faculty member to engage , connect, and assist the student in a positive fashion.

Making a positive impact on students will enhance motivation.

As an Academic Advisor, generating a positive impact in students' lives is essential for their academic and personal success. To achieve this, it's crucial to create a comfortable environment where students feel welcome and supported. Additionally, a good advisor must learn how to teach, offering advice and strategies to help students overcome their challenges. It’s not just about giving information but about telling it, telling it, telling it, repeating key concepts and ensuring that students understand and absorb what is being shared. Motivation is key to helping students maintain focus and drive toward their goals. It is also essential to inculcate emotional intelligence, helping them recognize and manage their emotions, which will allow them to make healthier and more balanced decisions in both their academic and personal lives.

Visualizing is something I will definitely be putting to work in the classroom. The best stories told are when you feel like you are in the story with the person telling it.
