In new learning environment (online learning / teaching) the game and simulation are an important tools to engage students in process of online learning. There are advantages and disadvantages of online learning with games. The advantage is engaging learners, and problem is "time was not enough".

I have learned that there are advantages and disadvantages to using simulators. One of the disadvantages is that some students may not understand how to use the simulator; therefore, they may lose interest in the assignment.

Great insights! I am currently teaching a course using a simulation, and this material made me think I should supplement with formal lectures on some of the frequently misunderstood aspects of the simulation

I would like to include more teacher-made games in the classroom. If I write them myself, they tend to be less fraught with errors, and they are more related to the class's learning content.

Gaming allows a way to bring an innovative collaboration and learn new material

Sometimes games are helpful to certain types of learners.  Sometimes they're not.

Online simulators are a great way for students to experiment without the need for an in person instructor to show them how to do something explicitly.

I learned that the greatest area of opportunity for learning with games is to provide a practical connection to the course material. We already implement an active learning activity in the form of a case study during lecture. There is opportunity to "gamify" this activity to increase student engagement and simulate the case scenario.

I definitely feel a game or simulation would be useful in my classes. I am not sure how to create what I have in my head though!

In an age of gamers, this approach may make the process more to their style

Gaming and simulation, if used properly, can enhance motivation and learning in an online course. However, time to create them or a lack of experience in doing so are potential barriers for the course faculty.

Gaming can be applied in online learning by integrating interactive simulations, virtual role-playing, and game-based assessments. Instructors can use platforms that support gamified learning experiences to create immersive environments where learners can apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios.

I have learned that gaming and simulations are creative ways of learning and not just fun and games

Better learning from students. Some limitations in simulations

Games can be a fun way to learn and implement concepts learned, but are time consuming to create and may not be suitable to all students.

I will like to use games because I want to help students in their learning.  Also I want to introduce some kind of enjoyment while students are learning.

Gaming is another way to learn, also helps memory retention when they realize some one.  I expect using them students could reforce learning.  However, is not easy to find a well designed game and when you aply it takes much more time.

I have already been applying it, the response of the students is very enthusiastic, participation has increased, especially in online classes.

Providing well thought out simulations takes time--developing and integrating them. However, the benefits can be great.
