Comment on Dominick San Giovanni's post: Do foccus on Do´s and Don´ts, those would help you in being ready for any visits

It is important to have files organized and ready for the visitor, especially those are commonly requested such as the catalog, course syllabus, and student/employee handbook. Faculty files are the most frequently cited as being incomplete.

The onsite visitor may interview staff, faculty, students and others, in a cubicle, in an unoccupied office, in a conference room, a classroom, or by telephone, web-media or video chat. Telephone calls and video chats are becoming more common with faculty and staff who work remotely, especially in the case of online or distance education courses.

The onsite visitor may request to visit an externship site to conduct an interview with students or staff there. Sometimes the onsite visitor will ask the externship coordinator to plan the visit to the site, or they may choose to go alone to the site. It is becoming more popular to arrange a web-media or video chat with an externship site graduate or staff member.

Most commonly an onsite visitor will interview staff and faculty in a private location such as an empty cubicle, an unoccupied office, a quiet conference room or an empty classroom.

It is important to be honest in your answer, however, to not give a negative image about your institution. At the end, you represent the institution and you should focus on its strengths and culture.

Dead air isn't a bad thing during the interview process. Be clear with your answers, don't over explain, and it's okay if you don't know the answer. Just say that you don't know.

Be prepared, to provide the requested items. Be aware of interviews during the visit. Follow the do’s and don’ts during the interveiw.

Es importante tener la Información preparada y actualizada, responder a las preguntas de manera honesta y sustentada, realizar algunas practicas previas con el equipo para estar preparados.

I've learn that it is best to be concise in responding to the questions of the on-site visitors.

Its ok to say you don't know as long as you can direct them to who they need to talk to.

Student files should be kept up to date. I check all files every other month to insure everything is up to date.

It's important to keep records up to date and organized to better assist the on-site visitor with completing their task.

It is important for the right people to speak with the interviewer and it is ok to say "I do not know" but let me direct you to the person that knows that answer.

The best way to complete a interview is with clear honest concise answers

It's important not to get overly excited about an enrollment and take the time to go over and complete all forms accurately.

Comment on Emily Jenks's post: Yes I couldn't agree more.

The best way to complete an interview is by answering questions completely and concisely. Be thorough and detailed in your answers providing facts and data to support.

Learn ways to make the site visit interview easy.

Agree with that statement, most of the time the employees file are not completed.
