I recently learned a lot of definitions and how important they are to my job. I've discovered that these resources are essential to my ability to help pupils. I've discovered how important it is to maintain an updated resource notebook so that I can access this knowledge and use it as a tool throughout my job.
This is my first 2 weeks in the enrollment role I play, so this course is of great importance to me. What stood out for me was the list of words that are unique to the educational sector.

Hello, I have learned that this course is intended to protect the prospective students from being mislead by an institution. In addition, having a resource notebook could be a very useful tool to an admissions employee for the purpose of referencing terms and definitions, institution catalog, a organization chart and other important pieces of information. I intend to apply the information retained from this course within my new position as an Admissions Specialist.

This is my first position in Higher Education and as an Admission Representative. The first module was informative. I gained more clarity on the importance on having licenses, such as (the agent license) and why it is important to understand the different terms used in admissions. Before starting this training, I did not understand the importance in knowing about the marketing at this school, or the type of advertising at this school, but it is important as an Admission Representative to know how these things are done because that is what draws our potential students to this school.

This is my first full time admissions position and this chapter of the compliance training has been very informative thus far. Through this chapter i was able to learn various definitions of words and terms that are currently used throughout the admissions department. Besides this, it was also very interesting to learn about the legal aspects of this position and the licensure requirements that goes into this position. I'm elated to learn more about the ins and outs of the admissions department and everything that it entails.
So far I have learned the importance of making sure to adhere to the rules, statues and regulations set by the state. Also understanding what the different terms/definitions are, what they mean and how they apply to my role. Amongst many other things I have learned, I am gaining a greater understanding of just how important my role is and how it affects the students.

By doing so, I aim to enhance the overall experience for applicants and contribute to the positive reputation of our institution.
