It is important to encourage and establish communication between the instructor and the student and between students.
Communication is critical, both in terms of setting up general expectations and in terms of giving feedback. This requires the instructor to have a clear plan and clear expectations set up ahead of time.
Get regular feedback from students, and have in place a system that periodically assesses the effectiveness of my teaching.

Learning from experiences to adjust accordingly for the class and still be within the objectives of the class. Get a lot of feedback from students to help with the adjusting for future classes to make it even better.

Even though I teach first grade, I would still like for them to have the opportunity to communicate with each other about the assignments they've been given to complete. If not the students, then the parents should be able to communicate with each other, too.
This module opened up some thoughts on how I measure accountability. I will have to explore some new ways of doing things.
Educators/instructors should use student/course evaluations, but that should not be the only measure of course success. Instructors should review students' posts and assessment measures to see if what was accomplished was what was intended.
My idea of constant communication is having one on one time with students who are having a particular problem with course. So if I communicate with them through discussion boards or emails. Keep them involved and talk about progress it will help all my students in the long run.
