It is important to realize the background of your students and meet them where they are and do your best to support their educational journey.
I learned from this course how valuable conversation with students is. Learning about the differences between cultures.
Discussing career goals and how to help frustrations.
It is important to understand your students’ motivations.
The course offered some excellent points in dealing with students from different cultures or countries and those who have learning disabilities. Sometimes to ensure student's understanding it may require demonstration and repeating demonstration. And those with disabilities, it is important to discuss with the student his/her specific disability and support them in those areas.
understand and support students but do not let them overtake the class

I agree; we must know our students. We have international students who must overcome learning challenges and obstacles. Online learning has come a long way from when it started. Thanks to technology, we can reach out to our students more than ever with crucial information to benefit their educational progress. I know that students like to feel that someone has their best interest at heart while providing support and structure so they can be proud of their education. Students and faculty must make a connection. Faculty members must inspire students to want o move forward with their academic goals.
When working with adult learners, to understand and incorporate their life experiences, whether it is culturally, careers, etc.
Placing people of different ages together in groups to work together can help show what each age group brings to the table and help with overall confidence and moral from either older or younger student's insecurities.
This was very helpful, needing to see the students as "adult learners" more focused towards their new and up and coming careers than just a student who's has just graduated from HS, with the full support of mom and dad. Knowing more of what the student struggles and ways to help, keep them focused, and encourage.
Always need to realize the priority for the students.
I appreciated the discussion about the student needs. Always need to realize the priority for the students.
Instructors need to be aware of the variety of student in their class and make the correct adjustments to the their needs. So necessary to know the students intrinsic reasons for being successful but Instructors need to know their bountries when interacting with student and often they can reach out to Ed Managers and Student Services for additional help so that this does not become overwhelming and take away from other students
What I learned from this course what how to be able to better assess a student depending on their situation. At the same time making sure each student is paired with another diversity and age range will allow all to also learn from another.
Very interesting module. I have had tons of experience teaching people of different ages and backgrounds in the military and Capella University. Therefore, I am equipped with what it takes to deal with a vast array of different people. However, I did learn a lot from this module. It has expanded my view on learners and their needs.
This course was helpful and resourceful on how to approach students based on their needs and way of learning.
Students are in the classroom for a variety of reasons and have a variety of skill brought to the classroom, along with a variety of fears. We as instructors must work within these confines and be encouraging, but overall we are there to teach the content and help them learn.
I learned that you have to keep the students motivated and be flexible when students become frustrated.
Students will not return to class if they feel like school has become a chore, it is important to build a relationship to keep them coming back to campus.
It is important to understand students to meet them where they are at as they all come from different places in their life.
This has helped me get into the heads of my students, many of whom are even older than me, and who are especially removed from what I teach (mathematics). Without understanding their goals and motivations, it's very hard to get through to them.
These bulleted lists will make it far easier.
