Activity

Connecting with students is important for them to feel comfortable asking questions.

Each instructor will vary in delivery methods. The important aspect is altering methods to reach diverse students needs.

Listen to understand rather than respond right away.

I tend to walk right next to the inattentive students and make it known that I want to hear what great ideas they have that could contribute to the whole group. I also utilize small table talks that work well for collaboration.

It is important to hold a solid line for adult learners to hand in work on time. Highlighting the fact that they are training for real world workforces. It is also important to ensure no one can say they are not aware of due dates.

Intrinsic and extrinsic motivators are both important in the adult learning process.

When students are confident in their ability to succeed at an assignment, they are more likely to have motivation to participate.

Professional Development

Lead by example, recognize that the instructor can learn from students as well.
