What should you say if a student wants to know about the transfer credits to another institution

Transfer ofcredits correct answer ?

Competitor

If you know a competitor is closing, is it always best to not say anything to that purspective student?

Transparency

I think the transparency aspect of the training should make clear that within the next 5 to 10 years there may be a substantial change in higher education, especially for online education.  I suspect that the number of online universities and or degree programs will no longer be in business as the U.S. Depart. of Education imposes greater scrutiny and requirements.

Very Interesting

I found this seminar very interesting and at the same time very informative. At the beginning I was kind of confused, but aftet reading it became very easy to understand and overall, it contained information that we use on a daily basis.

Students with Disabilities

The is a facinating topic and I am learning and unlearning so many things as I study this material. I am blown away by the misinformation that I have accepted over the years as being fact, as it pertains to disabilitiees and the challenges that so many in our society have.

Transparency

Transparency plays a great part in building trust with potential students and the best way to build trust is to just tell the truth.

Raising the Bar

I felt that this training was very helpful to me.  At first, I didn't pay attention to financial aid or anything outside the classroom. I thought that wasn't my area  and just refer students to the experts.  I,m sure it is imperative for all faculty and staff to know the guidelines and policies of the institution.

Research and discussion thread responses

How much time is spent researching topics for interaction during dicussion threads?

DNC, CAN-SPAM and Title IV Funding

I personally learned quite a bit throught this sectoion about the DNC list and the guidelines around it. In my current company we have always been told to stay on compliance around it but never told exactly what the guidelines were. Now, that i know i have abetter understanding and know what the guideline s are.

Under the Title IV funding and the grand-fathering a person in does this apply to every institution or does each institution make their own rules and regulations around the issue?

Mission statement question

Mission statements are important because they provide directions for new employees and can be referenced during difficult times.

My role

As an admissions representative, it is my role to ensure that our school is a good option for prospective students. This involves asking questions that concern a student's goals and career inquiries. While having knowledge on disability accommodations, I don't have the authority to promise these accommodations will be made. I understand my position and will lead disabled students to the right faculty member.

Accommodation Process

One thing that makes education so important is that it can level the playing field for people of all backgrounds. Whether you grew up wealthy or from a low socio-economic background, you can have an equal chance to succeed as long as you work just as hard or harder as the next guy. This applies to those who are disabled. The accommodation is key to leveling the playing field within education, but it should not be confused with gaining an advantage other students don't have.

The Impact of Disability

It was mentioned that it is common to work with someone in a group with a disability and not even know. It makes me think about my own experience in group projects and having problems with members that weren't doing their share of the work. Instead of labeling them as being lazy, there is a good chance that some of those situations were the result of a learning disability or ADHD.

Legal Obligations and Opportunities

Technological advances have opened up a huge new range of opportunities for disabled students to attend college/university without feeling they can't compete with fellow students. With the government making steady legislature to ensure this will continue, this will provide disabled individuals with hope.

Technical Standards

As a career school I feel it is our responsibility to advise students of technical standards that are required in the career of their choice. For example, a deaf student would not be a wise applicant for a vascular ultrasound technician career as they would not be able to discriminate the sounds of Doppler. Some careers require the ability to transfer patients from a wheelchair to a gurney. How should we advise students without being discriminatory?

Training

Training was long but very helpful

Federal regulations

federal regulations have become very strict as it relates to receiving compensation on behalf of students.

Catalogs

Catalogs gives students a clear direction academically

Mission

Mission statement enforces who we are

Unapproved Methods

I do not approve of compensation for students.there other ways to recognize and reward campus personnel who work in admissions and financial aid? Yes, although with restrictions. The Department of Education states that “institutions often maintain a hierarchy of recruitment personnel with different amounts of responsibility.
