Teaching To Learning Styles.

I learned four different styles of learning. Audio, Written, Visual, and Kinesthetic, are four different learning styles in which everyone uses one or maybe two of the four. To have an effective learning class of 100%, all styles need to be used when teaching, to ensure everyone in the class is learning and retaining information.

Developing Course Content

In this module, I learned how you deliver a course and its materials, make a difference in how the students receive and retain the information being taught to them, as well as the learning styles of different students, based on how the material is presented.

Meeting the class the first day

So far what I've learned from this module is, the way I introduce myself to the class, and interact with them, eases the mood of the class, and by having the class interact with each other, it allows the class as well as myself to get to know the characteristics of each individual in the class. By sharing my experiences in the field with the class, it gives them an idea of what to expect when they go out into the field, and will generate questions, allowing them to be more comfortable with sharing their thoughts and helping to familiarize themselves with the field by the answers given.

What have I learned in this lesson so far?

What I've learned about the course so far, is that it's not necessarily about the knowledge you have in the field regarding what your teaching, but more so how you present yourself in front of the class (appearance, behavior, delivery of what your teaching), in order to keep their attention and keep them motivated. In other words, engage the students in conversation and activities in order to keep them motivated, and attentive to what you're teaching.

Keeping online students engaged

Hi everyone,

I recently started teaching a course online, and while this is not my first time doing so, this cohort has a large number of students in it, and during lecture it is not easy to keep them engaged - some are, and some are not.

Some suggestions for managing a larger sized DE course?
