By setting the expectations and modeling behavior we set the tone for the remainder of the term. We only get one chance to make a good "1st impression" 

How do you, as an educator, handle students who overtalk, and interrupt during the informative or lecture portion of the class, to continue guiding the lesson, and meet the objectives on time? 

I am always prepared when I enter the classroom, whether online or residential. I show up to class early to have the technology in the course ready, classroom supplies or teaching materials available. When I teach online, I require my students to have their cameras on so we can get the feeling of community in my class. When my students feel safe, valued, heard, and when they see that I am prepared for them before they enter the learning environment, I have set the expectation and modeled the performance I want to see in them. For myself with over 15 years of experience I believe that Effective Teaching Strategies, specifically developing as an instructor means continuing to refine and adapt my teaching approach to meet evolving student needs and learning environments. It emphasizes that even seasoned educators grow by integrating new methods, reflecting on practice, and staying current with trends. For me, it is about marinating a learner-centered mindset and continually enhancing your impact in the classroom.
