Instructional delivery

Had some good points made in assessing students in a lab setting.

do the right thing was a tuff assignment

I am challenged to learn more about representation and legal issues with compliance and doing the right thing to help provide the best knowledge and honest communication with students that are to enroll in our school.  Just wish I knew how to beable to redo the final assessment test now that I have learned and reviewed material.

Flipping the Class

I have found that the students like the Inquiry based assignments.  They engage with each other which helps with teamwork.  It also seems the slower learning students respond well to the student that has mastered the content.  I need to work on the Homework phase, online videos, etc.  I also need to work on leading questions to facilitate the thinking process.

keep it cool

make a plan an stick too it work thru problems and keep track of difficulty's and thought processes.

engaging students

I try to engage students during lecture by asking questions about the subject. There have been times I have assigned portions of the lecture to each student and let them speak using two to three power-point slides and have them ask the questions. Students that are struggling seem to get more out of the subject.

Vital information

Felt this course is teh basis/foundation to help me help students be successful throughout the year and ultimately in their career!

ED 114

This is a wonderful course! Though most of the information in this course are already familiar to most educators, the presentation is simple and yet very interesting. The course makes us more aware of how questioning can raise the bar of learning in our different classes. Once again, I am so looking forward to applying what I have learned here in my simulation classes. I would really want to strive to become well versed with the open and procedural questioning to make my facilitation much more productive. I need to use the closed questioning followed by open questioning type like… >>>

Helpful course

Areas that were helpful in this course were in how to present questions to students.  The flow of the material is helpful as well in terms of progressing a student to higher critical thinking.  I found this course comprehensive for use of learning styles and bloom's taxonomy.

Teaching methods

in order to enhance the students reception of materials thought , it is imperative to useboth visual aids as well as instruction. provide clear guidelimes of the course and content. Have clear expectations as well from the students.

There was definitely some very useful information that I will use in my next class.  The course especially has made me re-think the question, 'does anybody have any question?'  I now see where that is a no-no.

ED 111

I love this course. I learned so much about active learning methods and I intend to utilize some of the things I have learned when I simulate Advanced Medical- Surgical Nursing scenarios with our students.

Thank you very much.

ED 107

Great course with many ideas on how to enhance the classroom experience while maintaining focus on course objectives. It was more than just "how to add fun" to the class.

Great video that mentioned preparing students for success and the inclusion of "soft skills."

Thank you!

best practices, action plans, successes and challenges

I enjoy telling a story that is directly related to the point I am trying to make.  As a police officer there are a lot of story that I can draw on in order to make my point clear

ED103

Even though a lot of the information is common sense, it has been an extremely beneficial review. I have learned information to make my tests more effective to measure learning outcome of my students.

Learning Styles

It is always nice to review the learning styles as a review.

Using different test

Utilizing different styles of test and learning tools are a valuble part of Professing our knowledge to adult learners.  Not everyone learns or test the same, providing diversity improves our ability to exchange knowledge and skill sets.

Accelerated Learning in a Simulation Class

I am a Simulation Instructor. It is a great job because I can create scenarios that mimic real - life situations in teaching our students. This course is valuable to me since I can use certain things like peripheral learning, music or the Pygmalion effect to help in the students' learning processes. This also gives me the opportunity to ask more from our students, make them share their life experiences, to enrich our over-all learning. I need to learn and practice more on the instructor's notes and on the logistical notes as well.

Informative. A lot of review, but very important concepts. A great refresher for going into the classroom.
