Learning techniques

When teaching something new, I first check students for any prior knowledge of material. then I teach by using oral drills accompanied by posters and diagrams that are

colorful. I provide examples as a reinforcement. Sometimes we break into small groups for problem solving activities. this helps all kinds of learners

study

Pay attention study and review again.

Student Learning Groups

When putting my students in learning groups, I have found there are some students who feel this will be an easy A. I encourage them to all give input because they will still be graded individually as well as in their respective groups. If the group will be presenting a project as the end result, part of the assignment is to write a summary individually to be handed in at the time of the presentation. All group members must also have input within the presentation. This works well for my students because they all have a chance to participate.

very useful

I found these training courses to be very helpful and plan on implementing them into my teaching when i get the opportunity to be instructor.

Reflection and Action Plan

I may need to consider how to plan my instruction in a more fine-grained manner

ways to learn

I dint realize before doing this module that there are so many different types of learning, audio, visual and many others

reflection

To state my reflection and action plan i look at the notes about the lecture and take from that alot about being prepared emotionally and as well as have your material ready and know your students habits and strong suits

New hire

I feel that if you put your mind to it and study hard enough and you are put in the right situation and right environment anything is possible. Hard work and studying pays off

Online

I must say this was interesting. I just concluded a online breeze session. There were some bumps in the road, but over all I liked the fact that my students could reveiw my lectures on line and give more time to their projects in class. I am still adjusting, but as time goes on, I feel I will become more comfortable.

Question habit changes

I have made it a habit to ask my classes question. I did not know the mistake I was making. This course taught me the pit falls and how to think about question composition knowing npe how they can be either effective or not depending on delivery and better wait times preventing interuption.

Reflection and Action Plan

I will spend some time looking over classes that are appropriate for the "flipped" classroom. As the course suggests, I would like to slowly implement the changes and complete a post-course review of what worked and what did not work.

Monitoring students

Monitoring students through observation allows me to see which students are focused and which are not.

Learning Styles and Testing Styles

The way in which I can create a test can coordinate with each learning style of all of my students. I like to put a little of multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blanks, and one or two short answer questions on the tests. The students seem to do well on them and retain the information very well for the final test.

Active participation

Time to come up with some new activities to increase participation and learning. How about ote cards with a subject for each student is an inexpensive easy way to get started for research and discussion.

Action

After completing 3 course, I will contune until I receive CHEP certification.

Testing

Great applicable information! I learned that testing is to show students how much they know and not how much they don't know.

Begin class

Starting class with an exciting comment or quote. I plan to start my next class with a joke. That wil help relax students and lighten up the atomsphere.

ED101 course

This course has refreshed my memory on the labors we take in setting up learning environments. It has encouraged me to look for new ways to inspire my students.

Instructional delivery

Thank you this course was very helpful.

Strategies

I will give encouragement and support to my students. My lectures will be in different learning styles.
