Just providing a supporting helpful presence is huge.

I have mentored students that were taking online courses, where there was really no teacher on the other end to get help from or intereact with. This is a problem.

There is a little comfort in knowing that teachers have not totally been replaced by computers, yet.

What have you learned from this module and how do you intend to apply it?

It is important to share with learners they will have to exercise a significant amount of mental effort while learning. I did not know how this impacts retention levels, or that here is a positive correlation based on the amount of mental effort experienced by students. I want students to know the importance and how meaningful online learning is.

This motivates me to want to share more challenging examples and scenarios so students can connect to the topic areas addressed in the course. I have learned first hand how learning outcomes are higher when learners are actively engaged in the learning process. Any student can share an opinion, but when asked to find information to support that opinion, they learn opinions are often not supported and need data, facts and sound, proven evidence.

I believe communication is the key to a successful online course.  We live in a fast paced world, students expect responses to their questions regarding content or technical problems in a timely manner.  Lessening student frustration is largely based on making each student feel that they are a top priority.

the instructor have different ways methods to to teach the same goal and also they need to understand the online plattfor to used in effective way and support the student

I am new to the online envoronment and am seeking to learn as much as I can through this training. I appreciate any tips!

I learned that as an instructor in an institution, that I may have no imput on what platform I will have to use to teach.  So, to me, that means that if requested to do an online course, I must factor into my plan TIME in which to completely familiarize myself with the online platform or program being used to deliver the course.

An online course requirers an active participation from students and an instructor who shows enthusiasm.

I have done online training before but to mainly orient myself with the various learning systems like Blackboard and Moodle. What was interesting to was the characteristics of on-line courses which include the structural integrity, navigational simplicity, intellectual interaction and active learner-centered learning. I will definitely keep these in mind when creating course content on line for my class

Having a very structured format is very important to delivery of online format

in order to reach my students i have to use different technique and no the content knowledge and goals, grading,. Teachers must use different techniques. What work for one may not work for other students.

That to teach online the instructor teacher has to be aware of different techniques in instruction and online instruction.

This is a little different for online course management for the Covid19 situation.  My usual CTE course is in person.   I am tasked with continuing instruction in a NTI fashion (online instruction and packets).  The process of online course creation requires a platform to have and be familiar with.  THe only tools I have are email, google classroom, google forms and edpuzzle.  These are pretty good delivery mediums but they have their pros and cons.  I maintain student contact and offer manageaeble assignments and assessmants on a weekly basis.  Trying to finish out the year with relevant lessons which will be attended by my students is my main goal.

I found this very interesting, learners are more engaged into their studies when they have confidence in the instructor. As an instuctor, it's important that we do learn the software utilized so can can offer great online learning.

I learned it is important for me to be knowledgeable and familiarized about the course management system in order to provide the most effective online learning experience for my students.

So far I have learned that the more prepared I am with how I want the course to progress and how I am going to engage the student in a none face to face enviroment the easier it will be for the student to learn information. To meet my goals I am going to make sure that I am fimilar with my online delivery system and get a chance to run through my course materials a couple times on that delivery system so I can better navagate students through any issues they may encounter.

This really good information to get me prepared for my upcoming class.

E-learning is becoming more popular among learning institution.  I have learned that structure and security is essential for the instructor and learners. There will be learners new to online learning and it is the responsibility of the instructor to guide them through the process. I intend to use information in this module by communicating expectations of the course in addition to providing feedback to each learner when submitting assignments and comments.

I would like to be better at designing some activities that don't have to be done in linear fashion, because some students like to work ahead and/or become more interested the more they learn to apply the information.

Our students received an orientation to their Course Management System early on in the program, but I think it would be helpful to have a "refresher" on how to use different aspects of the system further along, because they forget things!

I have learned the importance of having the students have the instructors accessible as well as the help from technical support

The instructor must make sure the content in the lesson is clearly presented and allow time for the students to ask questions if something is not clear.
