I like to give the students a pretest to see what thay have retain from the prior class.It helps me to help them to teach the next step from where they are.

They may be graduates of the program who have been successful in their field, and the students love to hear threir venture. The pro and cons and hard work etc. etc.

By integrating many different teaching tools will add variety of learning in the classroom. An instructor should never stand behind the podium and lecture all class, and never just read from a book or power point. You will have many different students in the class with different learning styles that you as an instructor will have to accommodate. Some students learn by audio, while other students will learn by visual, and still another student will learn best by hands on. The instructor will have to demonstrate all of the learning styles in the classroom by using different technology, tools and teaching styles.

Measuring Objectives Objectives are a list of knowledge that the student should be able to complete at the end of the class. The objectives have to be able to be measured in a way to see if the student has an understanding of the objective. The objective could be measured in demonstration, where the student would have to physically demonstrate a procedure like assembling a car engine. The objective could also be measured by the student taking a test.

When developing a Lesson Plan for your class you should include the name of the instructor and the date. It should also include the Lesson Plan Title, the Course Subject, Requisite Level, Field Standards, A list of Objectives, a Rationale, a list of Materials needed for the class all Procedures that are required and an assessment Strategy.

Know your students When preparing for a class, first know what the objectives are. An instructor must have great knowledge of the material to teacher the students. Plan a lesson plan that will cover all the objectives. On the first day of class introduce yourself and explain to the students what your interest are and experience in the field or subject being taught. Take assessment on what the student already know about the subject being taught. You could do this buy testing, asking what classes the students has taken in the past and quizzes.

In the culinary school I work we teach classical french techinques and the term mise en place is very important to us.It translates into everything has its place.We use it gathering ingredients for the execution of a recipe and mentally in a visulization process that prepares us to get ready for the execution of the recipe, a review plan if you wish.That is our basic organization model. I use powerpoints, research on the internet and U-tube.

I am giving powerpoints ready to use from the book use in class. I try to go over them using the relevant information for the class and adding more material I feel the student need to understand the topic.

Organizing the lectures and preparing for class allows me to managed time class for efficiently as well as teach the information to the students in a way that is easily for them to understand.

I see Instructors shy away from the wonderful world of technology and it drives me crazy.

I find grading is very essential to learning, without grades there is no way to evaluate a student, or know if there is any concerns. With grades you have better idea how to start to address the concerns. I found taking the student aside ask what area of concern if is the topic or sometimes it is an issue outside school,in that case the student can be refered to the right person.

I find that incorporating a lot of different teaching strategies into a class makes it interesting and at the same time addresses different learning styles. Playing videos, introducing games for learning and sharing real-life experiences helps. Students get bored if all a teacher does is read lecture notes and then gives tests.

A pretest will give you a better Idea of where your students stand.

Sometimes it is very difficult to always follow the guidelines is you have students who are slow learners.

You don't want the rest of your class to fall behind because you have a couple of slower students, how should you handle this types of students?

I think that a pre test will give an instructor a clear view of what students know and do not know.

I use power point for all lectures, I also direct my students to some of the different web site available if they are relevent to the lesson

Our objectives are layed out in the student workbook, I cover what we will be learning and why at the start of each day. Hopefully the student has read over that lesson plan the night before So they already have an idea of what is going to be taught that day.
