I learned how there are many different techniques to on-line learning. I also learned that communication is key.

Course delivery encompasses much more than the teaching style of the instructor. It depends on the environment of the course, the learning material presented to students, and the means of communication between the class and the instructor. There are many elements that contribute to the overall success of the course and how well it is received.

What i learned from this course was the importance of knowing the different needs of students in online learning. Also understanding what is expected of me as an instructor as being that support so students may have the confidence that they will succeed. I plan to understand the basis of my CMS, so i can help support as much as i can for the benefit of my students.

Very important for the instructor to be learned in the technical aspects of the platform in order to change content at will, and be able to help the student with the technicality of the platform, which will decrease unneeded frustrations.

I personally enjoyed taking online courses because some courses give more freedom to the student to learn at their own pace in a way. But also understanding the need to be tech savvy as well because some students really do struggle with online courses and being able to navigate course work. Also it is good for students to know what works best for them and their learning styles.

To ensure better communication, I am developing a list of Refined statements to incorporate into my email so there isn't any confusion.

I have a planned list of items to cover in my Face 2 Face meetings and stick to my list and answers questions that relate to topics so we don't go off track.

I do limited phone conversations - but in virtual meetings, I have a list or agenda of items to cover.

I believe knowing the system that the college is offering online courses on is important because we will know how to troubleshoot any problem. Students like to know that there is a human behind the screen that is willing to help them if help is needed. Therefore, being available to students is important.

Comment on Christena Meier's post: Right, I believed that tone was more important as well. But when you think about having your arms crossed could cause someone to assume you have an attitude or are upset about something.

As a professional, it is critical that we have a deep understanding of how to navigate the course. All the tool needed to help and solve issues that may arise. I enjoyed the recap of important point to deliver the best lessons possible in conjunction with the communication needed to assist in the students success.

I learned that because of the limits of certain forms of communication, I need to take some steps to ensure that I am effectively communicating what I need to in a way that is of value to the receiver by taking certain steps especially when not doing face to face communication.

I learned some valuable tips for creating an effective online learning environment. I will apply many of these ideas and suggestions to my prelaunch checklist.

I find it an interesting module, as it explains the guidelines and best practices to take into account for the design of our classes and thus improve the level of teaching and learning of students.

I will lay out the learning objectives for each module and at the end of the class will open a Q and A with reflection session where students can bring up their questions and concerns.

I've learned the difference in the communication styles, the advantages and challenges that each will have, and ways we can be more cognizant of how our message or point may come across to others. What I plan to do in order to apply what I've learned is take time to practice different situation. Ultimately correcting mistakes that I have a tendency to make and not letting my overconfidence get in the way of helping a student.

Each Instructor teach different. It is important to know the course, class rules, assignments, deadlines, extra credit policies. It is also important to have control of the class and Instructor privileges to manage effectively the course. Communication with students and support are important to reduce their frustration.

Structure and familiarity with the subject will help the students feel more confident in you and in what they are learning.
