I learned to identify the components of communication and the importance of body language in a conversation. I learned about the challenges and opportunities of each communication method.

Hello!

It is important, as instructors, that we familiarize themselves with the course delivery techniques and strategies. We need to understand the delivery methods and how to effectively navigate and use our course management system.

I have learn that body language is important .  Also the tone of your voice on the phone is important.   Also learn the communication style of your co workers.   Always let your perspective students know the value of your education that you are providing them.

Online learning is more than simply mastering content, it's about creating an environment to support that structure.

Online courses require instructors to have a working knowledge of the system. Students will look to the instructor to assist in navigating the CMS.

Being organized on the CMS, Continually monitoring the discussion boards, deleting outdated postings, etc. helps the students and instructor to be organized

I have learned that instructors need to know the structure of the course and familiarize themselves with the various delivery methods and assignment requirements.

There is more than meets the eye with online course.

For online course to be successful its important to  understand all tools and resources to help students get through the course without any technical difficulties.

How effective communication is crucial for learning

Student interaction needs to be consistent and frequent, ensuring that the expectations are expressed clearly and providing tools and support needed to promote student success.

Setting expectation is a critical part of online teaching. Understanding the importance of the timeline of the content helps improve a student's comprehension of the material.

Proper way to communicate with students is essential so they many understand the lesson.

I learned that frequent interaction with students can significantly enhance learning by increasing student engagement, improving information retention and developing key skills.

I have learned to support students in both their learning of content and their use of the LMS.

Comment on Carol Fann's post: I agree with you. If you aren't an effective communicator it makes it harder for students to stay engaged. That is from the rules to the course content.

Communication is key in engaging students in active learning.

Students learn more through active learning than passively listening.

The importance of body language & proper preparation for your conversation. You also need to find a common thread between yourself & your students.

Communicating on the phone with prospective students is a great opportunity to have a checklist in place to be able to cover a certain number of topics in such a short period of time.  Stay on task and be precise in answering any questions pertaining to our program/

One question I have after completing this course up to this point is:  What is the difference, if any, between a Course Management System (CMS) and  Learning Management System (LMS).  This is the first time I've come across the term Course Management System, so I'm curious.
