In this module I learned that communication contains to be a key component in any aspect of learning.
Contextual learning is so important in trades because the trade itself is only a small part of job and we can not be successful without critical thinking. Implementing technology can help teach critical thinking skills to improve the hands on learning.
Technology can actually be a helpful tool for contextual learning. I think I can bring this to my classroom by providing client "case studies", where students will need to use their critical thinking to adjust the treatment plan as needed.
As a professor, critical thinking, reasoning, and logical thinking are important within the online discussions
It is not important to learn trades, but without contextual learning, students will not be able to apply the learned knowledge to real world scenarios. One way to apply trade skills can be achieved through virtual simulation.
Trades are not only hands on. There is a ton of knowledge of knowing the basics is also needed to then know what part of the system is not working properly
Motivation is essential for students, it can help with difficult task.
The reasoning behind the "why" of a skill is important for students to know.

While I have only minimally used these, I am excited to implement more contextual learning in my classroom, such as problem-based learning.
As a professor in a highly skill- and trade-based graduate program, I often wonder how new technologies and online learning can be effectively integrated. This module has opened up a whole new perspective for me, highlighting the necessity of context-aware critical reasoning. I am grateful for this insight.
There are benefits of learning trades online, but there still needs to be a hands-on component to any online trades program. This might be done as an externship following the online portion of the program, or a program that includes both online and in-class components.
Applied thinking provides students with an opportunity to think about new possibilities and modified skills that might be required in specific contexts of use. I'll be implementing some online learning which can foster an environment for making mistakes and learning from it instead of doing damage that cannot be undone.

Learning the trades online is not only flexible for students but also extends the educational possibilities. It goes beyond:

Utilizing Augmented reality (AR) for hands-on online training and critical thinking.
With the on-line learning students get the basic workings of the lesson. To solidify the learning , hands on practice is needed to conclude the learning and promote critical thinking on why things occurred the way they did.
In all trades knowing the theoretical aspect of the knowledge is paramount to problem solving skills and quality execution of the manual aspect of the trade.
Students sharing experiences from their practice helps bring context to the subject that is being taught.
