Activity

My first day, I like to open with an ice-braker. A good one is, you have the students to tell 2 truths and 1 lie, and the rest of the class have to guess, which is a lie. The students really get a kick out of it. Another one is icebreaker questions like; what day in your life would you like to relive? What was dream job as a kid? just to name a few. Icebreaker help students to participate and transition into learning experiences.

Make sure I review the curriculum and have the tools that is necessary for the class session. Make sure to have the major roles that are played for the instructor, which are Model; Manager; and Motivator. This will allow me to be prepared for my class.

I've learned developing relationship in e-learning environment can be challenging. When problem occurs you want to handle it quickly before it escalates. You want to contact your senior administrator and keep a record of all communication relevant to handle any behavioral problems.

I'm a Medical Billing Coder online instructor, what would be a nice icebreaker to engage my student. Do any of my teammates have a suggestion?

Comment on Pamela Gabbay's post: I agree, open discussion is good so that they can participate on the topic, also, you get feedback if they understand the material.

Comment on veronica Gottau's post: I agree with you Ms. Gottau, this will allow you to know your students and begin a conversation with your students. Allow them to feel you care about them and that your interested in who they are personally.

I learned that different instructors will teach different methods, and that is okay. I need to familiarize with course delivery techniques and strategies.

I learned and re-cap a lot of information. Due to being a seasoned Instructor you tend to forget some key tools that we have endured through the years of teaching, and  Course delivery has put them in the forefront. I definitely want to be prepared; deciding what strategies will work for the module I will be teaching in. Make sure I have all the necessary tools needed for the module. This will make me less nervous on the day the module begin and to the end of each module.
