This module underscores the importance of soft skills in education. Without skills such as integrity, creativity and the ability to empathize, the educator's job is simply an ineffective routine.
Leadership and critical thinking are two soft skills I plan on taking into the classroom space.
Punctuality, verbal communication skills, empathy ,patience, delegation, prioritize, conflict resolution, active listening skills, teamwork, and emotional intelligence

I've learned from researching soft skills for teachers that these competencies are equally crucial to creating successful instruction as technical expertise. The degree to which students participate, learn, and feel supported in the classroom is directly impacted by abilities including communication, active listening, empathy, flexibility, and resolution of conflicts. I learned that teaching is more than just handing down knowledge; it's also about inspiring students, fostering a culture of safety and inclusivity, and establishing trust. Active listening, for example, helps me understand the problems of my students, and flexibility enables me to modify my lectures to accommodate a range of needs. I plan to put these abilities to use by demonstrating professionalism for students, communicating positively, and being more aware of my relationships.
Soft skills are a set of skills thatcan be useful throughout your life in both personal and professional interactions. They are like a tool belt that you can take anywhere.
I think the last quote sums it up nicely: "Hard skills are needed to be an instructor, soft skills are needed to be a successful instructor." With my students, I will take out "instructor" and insert their intended professions.
I plan to include more soft skills into my teaching such as time management, critical thinking, conflict resolution, team work

Interpersonal skills and communication skills are interconnected, effective use of both certainly crucial for an educator.

This module has reinforced the vital role of soft skills in professional success, particularly in education. Through my experiences transitioning from nursing to instruction, I have realized that technical expertise alone is not enough—emotional intelligence, communication, teamwork, and leadership shape the effectiveness of an educator.
I now have a deeper appreciation for how emotional intelligence influences interpersonal communication, allowing for better relationship management and conflict resolution. Understanding how to adjust my communication—both verbal and nonverbal—has given me valuable tools to foster a supportive learning environment and navigate workplace challenges. Being an active listener is very important.
Soft skill are transferable to other career, that is why it is important to gain soft skills so that they can be applied to a different career if you make a change.
Be a better active listener without interrupting conversation of others.
I enjoy learning about thought reframing because it helps to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts.
Soft Skills are used to build character, self-confidence, and fostering good relationships. Our students trust and respect grow from this foundation as they go forward.
There are so many gems that come out of these Soft Skills, and I will continue to work on them all because all of them help me to become a better professional as well as serve the students, staff, and community with resilience. The effective teaching strategies bring about added value to all parties involved.
