The importance of preparation is reinforced in this module. I am challenged to be better prepared for all my courses.

This module highlights the far-reaching, negative impact of some students' behaviors. I will be using all the strategies recommended, especially those related to the angry student type.

From this module, I learned that attempting to change a challenging student is not always a realistic goal. Rather, it is the management of this student type through useful strategies that actually works. I will be employing all the strategies offered by this module, especially those related to students who are chronic excuse makers.

It is extremely important to communicate the expectations at the beginning of course. As a clinical nursing instructor, I find that this helps in decreasing confusion and anxiety in students.

This module underscores the importance of soft skills in education. Without skills such as integrity, creativity and the ability to empathize, the educator's job is simply an ineffective routine.

Having great interpersonal skills provides the basics for a trusting, respectful relationship between student and instructor.
