Active listening is important in the teacher student relationship.

Active listening is crucial during teaching and learning.

Active listening shows that you care and are not distracted. This can facilitate trust.

Being a good listener as a teacher will promote a confidence in your students that you are interested, focused and willing to engage with them.

Active listening is crucial when dealing with a student and their concerns. It shows that you value what they are saying and helps to develop a relationship with that student.

strong communication skills are by far the best tools to have in your tool kit. being able to convey a thought process or even instruct copious amounts of information to a variety of people (different learning styles). but they best are known that what you are saying is getting through to them have a well-versed proper conversation.

Listening is difficult especially when you have a goal of trying to get a point across. Particularly when you know the other person is wrong.

This might sound insane, but review the conversation you just had. Practice makes perfect and it’s going to help to write down everything, to not only let it go (mentally or emotionally for your health), but to practice.

We’re human and the goal isn’t to be perfect in the moment. It’s to make sure both parties leave in at least a mutual understanding, especially in conflict.

Listening is one of the most fundamental ways to connect with the students.

Active and undivided attention are critical in listening to the students needs.

Always make sure your ears are on in the classroom and also be a respectful listener if  a student is talking to you never pull out your phone or look at your watch.

Is always important to listen and have that moment to reflect before answering a question or making a statement.

Will continue to listen to my students and implement active learning and listening. I will make sure they understand that I understand what they talking about.

Paraphrasing and passive listening are key tools in making your students feel heard.

I already practice active listening, and terms like "combative listener" and the recommendation to not smile excessively are helpful.

Learn how to listen and respond accordingly with proper respect and poise. Make your students feel like they are being listened to in a respectful manner.

Good communication come from both parties! Both parties have to learn how to listen to understand and not speak/react! Active listening is also important because it lets the other party know that you are fully engage on the topic at hand.

I have learned to allow students to talk more while I listen to address their personal concerns.

Always a challenge for me to keep my mouth shut and listen.  I too often have cut a student short on a shared thought.  I have improved a great deal through the years, and find it very helpful to be reminded of proper listening skills from time to time.

Active listening and making students concerns feel heard and valued promotes a stronger teacher/student relationship and helps address issues and conflict resolution.
