Learning about where your students are in their learning will help you as a teacher understand how to place people in groups or know how to approach different situations. It is important to know to also handle diverse classrooms as well as age groups.
I learned how to understand the different needs of students when they are thrown into a new environment. I believe that having the ability to understand the different needs of students will create a positive classroom environment and create respect between teacher and student.
I found this course to be very interesting, knowing the different age groups, cultures, and learning methods are very important for an instructor to know.

I have always understood that its important to understand the background and education levels of the students in my class. A setting is not a one size fits all situation. I know from experience myself that being understood by me teacher brings a certain level of confidence and eagerness to learn and absorb the information taught in class.

The course covered how instructors meet the educational needs of students with diverse age, cultural, educational and professional backgrounds. Addressing students’ unique needs and perspectives is fundamental to engaging the student. Student engagement also involves addressing the challenges and frustrations. As an online instructor I find addressing technology issues beyond my abilities and access so timely referrals to help communication back with and follow up with students through the process.

Being aware of the content needing to be taught and use the best method to deliver it. For example, if I am teaching injections, the best way to teach is hands on demonstration and return demonstration with guidance and support. If I am teaching about a specific medication, it may be good to have a visual presentation of the medication and what it would look like.
Each student is unique and comes with their own learning styles and life experiences. It's important to be able to adapt to students of different ages, backgrounds, etc. so that they can be successful.
This section helped to to understand the importance of identifying and learning student needs to help motivate them, keep them engaged, and support them to assist them in being successful. I also learned that it is important to be professional and incorporate boundaries when assisting them.
This course enlightened me to be more aware of common core values of student success in the classroom. It’s given me more insight on how to identify these values and what I can do as an instructor to improve and better equip the students.
