As someone who was in the wilson reading program and had accomodating as a child, this reconated with me.
I appreciate knowing the different types of learning disabilities. In particular, I now know the approximate numbers of students I teach who might want or need added support. I have been given concrete methods to help them be successful in my class.

By identifying the specific learning disability they have you can guide them more effectively through coursework. Context is everything and it is based upon the individual. Communicating with the student can help to uncover and identify tactics that have been employed in the past to tailor coursework in a manner that ensures success.

Students with learning disabilities are often of above average or average intelligence. Sometimes all they need is a little nudge to come out of their shells, but you have to it in a way that won't make them feel embarressed- Rather push them a little, make them feel like they have your attention, and coach them through the moment.

A lot of students I get that have learning disabilities perform ery well. They have already developed coping skills in secondary education. I usually just need to give them minor accomodations such as extra time in task and test.

Students or people with disabilities, sometimes (due to embarrassment) are not disclosed. It would help instructors know, by pretesting indivduals so we would know how to approve their issue.
