I learned that it is not beneficial to sugar coat feedback. If you are really trying to improve someone's style or managing approach you need to be blunt and direct with your feedback. 

Backwards chaining sounds like an excellent approach for blueprints and engineering classes. An easier way of introducing a ton of key terms and ideas!

I am intrigued by the integration of music while teaching and reviewing material. I would like to give this a try at the beginning and end of class to see how the students respond. 

I like having a microphone to establish who will be talking, while also allowing others to formulate any questions or ideas they might want to discuss while waiting their turn. 

I have found this section to be very helpful in offering various different strategies for helping students with learning disabilities get a fair chance at learning the content that is required for the course.

 

Random group selection of 5-6 students seem to work best. This will not leave students feeling left out or like they have nothing to contribute. Also be sure to set clear expectations of the individuals as well as the group as a whole. 

 

There are many forms of communication availablet to us as instructors now a days. It is important to put policies and procedures in place so that nettiquite is followed by all. 

 

making notes of any issues or mis-steps you may have experienced during a lab or lecture are great ways for you to avoid them for the following class. Having these in your lecture notes will help you remember to avoid those steps as you plan for your next class.

physical movement during lecture and eye contact are ways to engage our students, as well as let them know we are aware of whats going on in class. 

 

"The person with the gold makes the rule." Put the golden rule principle into effect in your class. Insist that students get the work done right and on time…period.

 

I will be implementing the late work details into the syllabus to make sure the students are well aware of the due dates as well as what happens if you do not turn it in on time.
