Learning good course strategy and to stay on task

One way to be efficient is to set the tone with proper planning and preparation to include the teaching environment, setting and writing goals and objectives and making a checklist.

Preparation is the key to success.

Plan early and carefully. Make a list of what needs to be done each class.

Being early and prepared for a class sets you up for success and reduces the chances of confusion or frustration for your students. Keeping the classroom neat and organized and having your materials ready will allow you to focus on the core concepts of the class.

Having a plan and sticking to it, getting to class early and getting to know the students, pronouncing their names correctly, and keeping a notepad available to jot down things as the notion occurs to me are all good things for me to remember.

Being prepared yourself will help your students to be ready to learn.

I learned so much from this module. Having a checklist is helpful to ensure that the key points are discussed in class. I will make sure to carry a notepad with me to jot down important information that requires follow-up. There is a great deal of preparation that is required to ensure that you are setting your students up for success. Students deserve to be provided with clear expectations, so they know what to expect.

organizational skills are important. be prepared. think ahead. do not wait until the last moment.

being organized helps set a clear path to get to the goal in a shorter amount of time

By being prepared to teach the classroom, it will make the teaching process go a lot more smoothly. Arrive, early, have a lesson plan, set a comfortable learning environment for the students and be clear on the learning objectives for the course.

My take from this is to remember that being prepared is very important for each class not just the first day but every day.

I learned about the five areas to focus on for teaching success;

Selecting the right content

Setting good goals/ motivate

providing written instructions to get to said goals

Selecting the right format

Forming your teaching style

Coming into class early and learning students names in essential. Having a clear objective set when class begins and fulfilling all objectives by the time class ends to set clear expectations each day.

As a new instructor: Prepare, Prepare, Prepare. Use resources. Have a checklist.

They gave very good reasons to be overly prepared with things like lab supplies and a notebook and pen.

Get an early start, be prepared, use checklists.

Being able to establish instructional objectives in order to accomplish the four components points.

A. Audience (Better understanding of the entry level of knowledge and skills the students posses).

B. Behavior (Balancing the students skills and development that is required for the course).

C. Condition (Considering the rules and procedures for students performance working inside the labs).

D. Degree (Calculating the level of proficiency required for the work required).

I learned how important it is create a syllabus and course outline. This will set students expectations.

preparation for your students will have a big impact.
