I learned that even in an online environment the students may not feel welcomed or may struggle. If I were teaching an online class I would do my best to check up on students and see if there is anything I can do to make the class more enjoyable.  

I learned that it is important to allow for time for small talk during the first 5 min of discussion and the last five min of discussion. I will implement this practice if I teach an online course.

I learned that it is helpful when teaching an online course to include on the first class a biography detailing my background and experience and also asking the students to share a biography of themselves with the class as well. I plan on implementing this practice if I ever teach an online course.

I learned the importance of being familiar with the Course Management System and all of the technology involved with online learning. I also learned of the importance of student engagement during an online course. I plan on implementing what i learned here by making sure that I am very familiar with the Course Management System and by making sure my lessons are engaging the students, and also by being able to change my delivery methods based on student learning styles. 

In this module I learned about the tree diagram. The tree diagram is a method that is used to help the instructor stay on the main point when giving a lecture. It helps to provide supporting information about the main point without allowing the instructor to become side tracked or off focus from the main point. This method I plan on using to help me stay on track during my lesson delivery. 

I learned that it is very important to plan and have a checklist. I plan on implementing this practice by making sure that I have planned and gone over my lessons, as well as making a checklist to verify that I have covered all of the topics needed to meet the learning objectives. Also arriving early to class to ensure that I have all of the necessary materials to complete the lesson. 

I learned in this model, that it is important that I, as the instructor model the professional behaviors, that my students will be expected to know once they enter the field. I plan on doing this by making sure that I am in my classroom and ready to start on time and that I acknowledge my students upon there entering and exiting the classroom.
